the big one, Maryville vs Lathrop

Riiiight....but the phonetics of the “th” sound are the same.
I’m assuming you don’t live in backwards brain world, for which you should be grateful.

I played in the Kansas City Interscholastic League in the early 60's and none of those schools were in that league. It consisted of Van Horn, Central, Paseo, Northeast, East, Manual, Wm Christman, Southeast, Southwest.
When did Westport open/join the IL?

It was called KCI (International) when I went to school and played in the early 80's, and Kearney was not in that conference then.

I may have omitted Westport........I do not remember playing them, but now that you mention the school it does ring a bell. I will be attending Maryville game tonight along with my son, grandson who played three years with Holt 2009-2011 and one with Webb 2012, and my other grandson who played all four years 2013-2016 with Coach Webb.

Enjoy, I will be there as well. Hoping for a good game.

Have fun. That's what it's all about.

that's cool. Enjoy the game with those two.

Any of you history buffs should be able to answer the KCI question. If it started before 1972 there's the answer.

The technical name of the inner city schools in KC is just "Interscholastic League" no Kansas City in name.

I know in late 70's Platte City (back then) and Weston (West Platte) were big rivals.

Maryville 42 Lathrop 2 Turboclock in the 3rd quarter.
This "insight" is not worth discussing; what IS worth discussing is what a nice pad they have there at Maryville, excellent backdrop and there were vehicle spaces looking over the field so that my over 70 mom could watch her grandson. Good stuff, and the people were great

Now apparently JOEY think you are a moron. Congrats on the win. Glad your grandmother got to see a win.

I have no basis to take a bit of credit from LFL, but it did make me wonder if LN may have some injuries or issues
I can’t help you on that, but about anyone with a pulse playing yesterday in class 2 would have knocked them out. That was pathetic, just so happens the one team without a pulse was LFL.

Holy horrible takes Batman.

If LN is as good as you or STL posters make them out to be. (I believe they are look at who they played) then that shouldn’t have happened with effort and better coaching. I watched the game. LFL came to play. But with stating that for the record, that was a horrible display for LN. The recruited talent they have should have overcame the effort and play of LFL. You could argue if the same effort would be applied against Lathrop or anyone else left on that side of the bracket they would have lost big time. I don’t think that’s a bad take. I troll a lot on here obviously. But you can’t hardly truly argue with that. It’s not a bad take. Sorry.

But On a different note, What’s CC chances against Hallsville?
Real good IMO. Fellow CCC poster @Wheels 1 put a spread of 14. Sounds about right to me.

If you see the tag wheels, what was the controversy on the last play in the Palmyra game? Duerr referenced it in his highlights, only to find it was a tease for tonight's Sports Final. Hate that guy sometimes.

Palmyra was called for a Offensive pass interference and TD was negated. There was under a minute left I believe and they would have been up by 2 or 3 with extra point. If you go to Barstool Clark County on twitter if you want to see it. Some think Clark will win by more than 14.

No respect for Hallsville? I figured they had done enough (they beat the team who beat the team who beat the team) to get the spread under a touchdown. Big advantage for CC is they have been here (and farther) before and I read an article on line that said this is the first ever district championship for Hallsville so they are negotiating territory where they have never been. That difference could be critical.
