All the runs in one inning, you can't stop scoring in a game like that. They had more chances and couldn't up put a few more runs. They better go into Pittsburgh with the idea they are still in the division race and have something to play for.cant give these 4-0 leads away
How can you put that on Matheny? Rosie looked lost. Threw a 91 (!) mph meatball that got crushed and could barely find the plate to the next guy. If I remember correctly, Duke struck Holt out and the AB to Bradley could have been different had the strike zone not gotten smaller than a gnat's @$$. In the end, I agree that they should have scored more runs when they had their chances. That was the ultimate downfall. But the way the 9th was called really compounded things, IMO.That game was a microcosm of the season. Crappy defense, bad baserunning, and failed bullpen chances lead to a loss. Let's not forget our panick stricken manger lifting Rosie to go lefty on lefty vs a guy with reverse splits.
My bad. Didn't hear that. Satellite kept popping in and out with all the rain. Remove the the second guessing comment on MM.Rosie had tightness in his arm
Fair enough. I'll limit it to the other three mentions, which totally isn't a reflection on the manager. LolHow can you put that on Matheny? Rosie looked lost. I thought I read in the paper that they told him to hold the ball for a long time.Standing there holding the ball on the mound sends a message you are afraid to throw your pitch. I really dont understand what Brebbia was doing. Throw the freakin ball.
All valid points, otherwise. I still don't understand how we can be so dang sloppy in the fundamentals for nearly 2 full years now.Fair enough. I'll limit it to the other three mentions, which totally isn't a reflection on the manager. Lol

Did they ever figure if the ump just called the TO on his own or who asked for it?All valid points, otherwise. I still don't understand how we can be so dang sloppy in the fundamentals for nearly 2 full years now.
Everything I read on it said the ump called it himselfDid they ever figure if the ump just called the TO on his own or who asked for it?
He was there when Oquendo was. Seems to me that he was the glue that held the fundamentals all together and now they're having a heck of a time replacing him.
