Tell me about Platte County

As a fan of MICDS, what can I expect to see from Platte County?

It’s appears to be a well coached team with a A+ defense and good offense.

i don’t need a bunch of BS KC vs STL stuff, just genuinely curious what I am going to see.

Bonus question, how is the stadium?

They have a great QB and they spread you out. Big target for a TE and speedy receivers. If you play a soft zone like MICDS did against Smithville in 2021, they will carve you up like what happened in that semifinal game. Gotta play physical!

As a Kearney fan I would say we missed out on probably the best game of the season that we didn't play them. I honestly don't know we would beat them even knowing we have the better D. They have a QB that can do it all get him slowed down will be a huge key. But they have multiple backs and receivers that can execute at a high level. Added bonus they as in the core of the team is all JR's so if you can't get them this year next year will be ugly. Still can't believe the Suburban Conference didn't schedule these two been playing each other for the last 15-20 yrs. I would bet the house on KHS and PC on the schedule next year.

How was the PC strength of Schedule for the regular season. MICDS played LN and DeSmet with out Gould at QB (Tommy Johns). Not sure if that would have made a difference, but it is notable. The rest of MICDS schedule isn’t all that tough.

I agree with everything that was said by The Daddy... I saw them one time vs. a very good St Pius team and came away uber impressed ! Offensively they have as good a QB as i've ever seen come out of the KC area he is very athletic and has a cannon for an arm. The RB's appeared small but very quick with breakaway speed. They will test you with the deep ball.
Defensively, the thing that impressed me most was how well coached they were. They will show you multiple sets and their blitz packages will remind you of Spagnuolo and the Chiefs. This really seemed to confuse Pius as the game wore on... they couldn't block them !
All in all, they will be more than a hand full for whoever they play down the road.

On Offense they will Spread you out and run the ball well out of it to try and get you to pull a safety down, if you pull that safety down here comes the air raid, oh yeah you also have to spy the QB because if you do cover all the wide receivers he is gonna take off running for the 1st down. Its literally unfair the pass game makes you wanna play a 2 deep but then they beat you with run.

Defense is one word Fast they close ground so quick. there were a couple times vs webb I thought a Kick return was going somewhere and out of nowhere a guy closes and makes tackle. Same on the off tackle runs you and the RB see daylight and they turn the lights off quick

Thanks, sounds like the rams have their work cut out for them. MICDS has a lot of speed, I’m excited to see how they stack up.

I will take the last question all the seating (old Arrowhead Stadium individual seats) is on one side but they made a little gated hill behind the visitor sideline which will no doubt be packed.

The place is a bit tight with narrow walkways. Brand new stadium scoreboard plus about the best HS band you will ever hear!

Concessions are OK and they do a good job moving folks along.

to me concessions were cheap but i just bought drinks i think 2 waters and a gatorade was $4
