I heard that the Texas UIL(their version of MSHSAA) has authorized local & independent networks to broadcast all the high school football games in the teams area. Is it possible MSHSAA will do the same thing or at least live stream all or most of the games.

Heck it's hard to get newspaper coverage. If you live in a big town, then you might have it. Springfield use to do a city game of the week.

To the best of my knowledge, this isn’t a MSHSAA issue until the playoffs. You, in theory, could live stream or broadcast any game you wanted at any time, past or present.

This is a free market issue. Nobody wants to do anything for free. There is no money is live streaming 95 percent of all the game in Missouri on any given night.

And, it cost money to do it. Someone has to go to the game and do it. If people wanted to do that for free, they would have already been out there doing it for free.

This matters in Texas because people in Texas care on a different level and there is a market for it .... You couldn’t pay people to go to a high school football game in some areas of Missouri.

At the Lake of the Ozarks, Lake TV does a high school football game of the week. Its broadcasted on local cable and live streamed on Facebook and Roku. The local radio stations carry all 4 of the local teams each game.

Are HS football games televised and if so, what channel are they on? Can't find anything in the guide except nonstop sports and it's not the games just highlights.

The Joplin vs Webb city game is almost always televised locally but they just mirror Webb's webcast typically

You can find all kinds of games on YouTube or MSHSAA.TV.

Many programs have their own Prepcasts. It's nice.

Until districts when MSHSAA has to earn their money off other peeople's work.

I see a trend.

I used the love watching the picks and such that ozone did. Now the coverage is pretty thin but I guess still the best in this area.

KSNF in Joplin usually broadcasts WC and Joplin and last year they did Carthage and Joplin as well I believe. I think it would be cool if they picked a game of the week every week and aired it. And included some of the smaller schools too like Seneca.

They don't need it in Austin and surrounding areas. The attendance at those games is staggering.

Not just Texas there are several other places that care a LOT more about football than here. I was in California awhile back and they had some local HS games televised there that were on par with any college level broadcast. And I was in Alabama recently and could not believe how big and nice so many football stadiums were and also the size of the visitor seating which suggested that fans travel in much larger numbers there.
