Switching ft shooters

Heard that the triplets were suspended one game and the Coach three games by the school. Don't have any confirmation.

That surprises me, but I think the state will want to take their shot at them too, maybe forfeit the Cabool tournament title or something like that. Likely will accept the school punishment and just add a little to it. Might lead to Luna taking his triplets and go to another school. I know a lot of schools that would love to have the little guys running around the court for their team.

I don't think there will be any punishment from the state. Regardless of the ethics involved it is the officials responsibility to make sure the right people shoot freethrows. Once the game is over the state isn't going to start forfeiting games because of official error, that is the first step down a long slippery slope that nobody wants. Fouls are called on the wrong people, fouls are missed, balls that go out of bounds are awarded to the wrong team, lots of things that good officials miss when you go back and look at on film or in slow motion. MSHSAA is not going to be in the business of review.

So if they get suspended their next game it will be against a team that has only 3 wins. I doubt that they are worried about losing that game even with 3 starters out. And if the coach is suspended an additional 2 more games they play 2 teams with under .500 records. That's good timing for them.

I agree the state won't do anything. The school suspended in order to circumvent that I'm sure.

To me, accepting them for basketball reasons and ignoring the blatant cheating is a shame. But that’s our society.

Those officials errors are just bad calls with no intentional cheating. While I agree the officials are partially to blame, the intentional switching of FT shooters is in a different category.

Then officials are not just partially to blame. The coach or his players can't do what they did if the reffs are paying attention.

Been that way for 50 or more years. There are plenty of schools that have hired administrators simply for the reason they have talented children. Athletically that is, academics have usually taken a back seat.

I saw it tonight in a game. The refs weren't paying attention to a lot of stuff, but this was very obvious. A 6-2 kid was rebounding and got pushed and was replaced at the other end by a 5-5 kid who made two. A dirty little secret that many schools use to their advantage when the officials are not watching the numbers.
