Willard CJ first half summary, from my view:
- Penalties on Willard - false starts and kickoffs going out of bounds.
- Penalties on CJ - holding on opening kickoff nullifies ko return for TD by Bulldogs; running into punter extends Willard drive; chop block on CJ defense gives Willard a first down deep in CJ territory after a third down stop; pass interference on CJ on a third down (right call for sure).
- Turnovers - CJ 2, Willard 0 (second CJ TO was a fumbled punt return deep in CJ territory with 1 minute to play leading to Willard's 3rd TD, where CJ's punt returner came out of the pile with the ball.
- Willard offense fighting hard to get their yards and points, but getting the job done.
- CJ - too many passes totally missing their targets.
Wouldn't disagree. A 7-0 CJ lead 15 seconds into the game and we might be seeing a much different story. But of course really good teams can overcome that burst of the bubble - I am wondering myself if CJ is really just an average team. This is a fine summary but does not even cover half of CJs errors. There is something going on with this team. They are getting worse.
