Rolla is not in BFE on that Map!

I stand corrected. I just glanced at it.
So there’s only 6 schools in BFE with football. 🤣

Lamar is 40 miles from Joplin
Monett is 40 miles from Joplin

Seneca would make sense being about 18 miles away, but it was pretty cool seeing all the state titles won in just that one county

What about Jasper County and the 3 counties that solidly touch it ...Barton, Newton, and Lawrence. Not Dade, since it only shares a 1 mile or so boundary. Adding those three counties would include schools like Lamar, Seneca, East Newton, Neosho, Mt. Vernon, Aurora, Pierce City, Marionville, and Miller.

I see what you’re saying. I’d have to run the numbers. I’m pretty sure Marionville is closer to Springfield by quite a bit in comparison to the Joplin area though. The same with Mt Vernon.

I would think Mt Vernon, Monett, Marionville, Aurora all of those are going to go with Springfield. They are all about halfway in the middle so I would assume they tend to identify more with the larger market but I don't know. Sometimes when I drive through those areas I look at tv antennas to see which direction they are pointed just because I always wonder do they lean Springfield or Joplin.

Depends, in youth Football and wrestling we tend to go towards Joplin area. But for those few who play roundball they go towards the Springfield metro area.

Basketball has to be at least this skewed. Growing up we had a stellar girls basketball program yet only made 1 final four because Visitation was always waiting, and had 'home' floor.

Wrestling...state titles dominated by Kansas City and specifically, the Northland of Kansas City.

Northland KC:
Liberty - 3 consecutive championships
Park HIll - 10 state championships
Oak Park 7 State Championships. 6 in a row at one point.
Platte County 7 State Championships
Kearney 4 State Championships.
SMithville 1 State Championship
Excelsior Springs 2 State Championships
