Ste. Genevieve

They can be very good but they looked bad in that one loss. Had a hard time scoring the basketball that night. They have a win over park hills and steelville but I don’t think they have played and overly strong schedule

I ain't sure they shot 10% in that game with NC. Granted NC had something to do with that but Ste Gen couldn't hit wide open shots that night. Their only 3 of the night came with about 20 seconds left in the game. They've had a bad habit of getting down early and making a big comeback. Just wasn't in the cards against NC.

I’ve watched them play a couple of times over the past two weeks. I don’t know if they were “playing down” to their competition, but I was not impressed with them in either game. Both nights, if they’d have been playing good teams, would have gotten beat.

Class 4 District 1 Seeds

1. Ste Gen
2. ND (host)
3. Cape Central
4. Sikeston
5. Dexter
6. Perrryville

Last night Ste Gen cruised over Festus 75-43 and ND had to come from behind at Neelyville and won 57-44. Lexi Rubel with 27 points and 10 Rebounds.

I think they are pretty good if they play together and run their offense. Nc matched up well inside with them and Sg went to the old chuck bad shots up from the outside and dive to the basket and hope for a foul game. Wish they would have stuck with their offense more. When they couldn’t turn the Nc guards over the route was on. Think Sg will win the rematch later this month. Losing a game now was a good thing.

They are good when they play together. I don’t find them really a good shooting team but they make up for it in volume of shots taken. They will not out tough you and I think their four bigs could be much tougher. 34 could be a force inside but they choose to play her as more of a guard.

They could lose to Sikeston in districts but my guess is they have a better chance to win district and the next round The expected cape Nd Sg game should be a good one.

As far as tough schedules go. You are gonna have to travel out of the area to get one tougher. They’ve played the teams that they have. Don’t think it’s much weaker than most teams in the area. Would have been nice to see them pick up a game up in St. Louis Maybe next year. It’s not their fault Farmington is not dominant any more which normally really added to your sos

Maybe pick up cape Notre dame, Jackson, saxony. Maybe oakville in south county. Those are all usually pretty good teams right along the highway

I heard they are picking up ND next year which should be a good game as most of the talent on each team will be back next year. Not sure if it is at Ste Gen or at ND.

That would be a good pick up for SG next season. Not so sure about after that. Any idea who they will drop to make room for ND?

Jackson and Saxony are both down considerably this year. P.B beat Jackson by 20 a month ago. I don't if that gets better next year or not. PB will lose 3 or 4 starters, including Kiley Bess, who recently scored her 2000th point and has signed at St.Louis U. and they have no where near a replacement for her.

Is ND 100% healthy? I thought I read they were missing a big recently. How good is ND?
I don't know if they even have a 'big' but they're pretty good. Quick and athletic for sure, don't know about their health.

Their bigs are their guards - 6’ PG and 6’1 SG. Sisters. They have a power five star track athlete that plays inside going to Louisville. I believe has state record in long jump and triple jump. As far as I know they are healthy.

I would consider it an upset if the top seed (SG) would win this district.

I know about the track star, I saw them play in the shootout thang at P.B. but I didn't realize those kids were that tall I guess. They're pretty salty.
