State Rankings

Thanks rebelman! Curious about Buffalo and Saxony with 19 and 30 pt losses. Are the Lady Rebs good again?

I don't know about Buffalo, but I have seen Saxony Lutheran play. I watched them against Cape Notre Dame in the Farmington tournament. They are a very good team again, obviously they're missing the Wieser and Brune girls, but they have some younger/other girls that are stepping up. Their 19 point loss was to a very very good Dexter team, who in my opinion will make a run at Columbia, I think they have what they need to get by MICDS.

As far as the Lady Rebels are concerned, they are very solid again. The Skaggs and Casey girl are all state caliber players. We play 3 sophomores in our first 7. Defensively they have impressed me so far. Obviously losing the Seniors we did hurt. It will take a little for the younger ones to find their groove offensively, but defensively they fly around and make alot happen. My only concerns currently are ball handling and size bothers us a little.

Not counting chickens before they hatch, and hopefully without injury, but I think it's highly likely that Saxony and the Lady Rebels will meet up again in the quarterfinal, I wish both could make it to Columbia.

Neelyville will be very good, I think. The game last year was a good one and Neelyville has their kids back, so this could be a dandy.

I think it'll be a very good game. Neelyville is good and has some really good players. Last year ended up a little lopsided (17 points) but it was a lot better game than that. Big keys for the Lady Rebs will be staying out of foul trouble(Skaggs) and handling the basketball/pressure.

BTW, the new poll is out.

In Class 3, Cuba is not 5-0. They lost at home to St. James on Monday.

How are the Lady Tigers this year? I miss getting to see them in the Potosi tournament. I thought you guys would be pretty salty with all the players you had returning, I know the two guards last year will be missed. As far as the poll goes, it's just fun to talk about and means nothing. Heck they don't even have Neelyville ranked in the top ten and I can tell you they are definitely good enough to be. Their two guards are freaking good. The Moon girl might be the best shooter I've seen in terms of quickness and makes.

Neelyville is really good, as you said Rebelman. Their guards are good and there is another girl hurt for them that was good last year. They should have a long run in class 2 this March.
Neelyville was up 10 vs Central Saturday at MAC. Good game at Rotary Shootout. Central played well defensively in the 2nd half and won. Congrats Lady Rebels.

I didn't think the defense was that poor in the first half, just seemed like they hit everything, it helped in the second half when they missed a couple.

Neelyville did shoot it well in the first half. Central did rebound and run out better after half too. I think the sub rotations help to wear Neelyville down too.
