State Championship projections!

Hickman and Rock Bridge both are 3-5 so don’t know how much stock I would put in those wins

If Hellas wins Friday night you have your new #1 in 4A :)
That most likely will not happen. Anytime you play up 2 classes and win it says a lot. RB lost to Rockhurst 16-14, in which Rockhurst manhandled CBC (31-14) and beat a good Ray Pec team 17-9. So there is a little stock in that win. What it will do is make the district semi final game harder when Helias drops to the 2 seed and has to play Lebanon though before Camdenton.

Will find out a lot about Helias Friday Night I think.

Maryville or Lathrop could be a factor in class 2, Platte City could be in 4, and Staley should be in class 5

Much as I like Hentges and felt Helias would return to prominence they are 4-5 TD underdogs this week............

True, and their loss to Park Hill South puzzled me as well. They seem to have some talent though.
They do but are very inconsistent. Some of those pass plays vs. Kearney were out of this world BUT part of that was lack of pass rush. Skirting past Tonka (that could be a round one rematch in D8) is definitely puzzling.

Ladue #3 behind Camdenton.
Camdenton barely won a shootout vs. Glendale. Perhaps that was a one game hiccup...........all but expect to find out vs. Helias Catholic in the D5 final.

Agree totally on class 2. Everyone is quick to hand LN the trophy now, just like in years past with them and Trinity. Solid programs with complete team schemes. This is an 11 on 11 game. Lamar very could well be in the mix as well.

Lamar has a MUCH easier path to the title game. I keep hearing they are down, but I also can't see anyone other than Ava perhaps that could knock them out.

Webb by 20 over them. Have you watched Webb yet? I have. Chalk.
Webbs kids on defense are playing like I haven't seen in a few years. They carry an attitude as soon as they step on the field. Looks like they are competing among themselves to see who gets to the guy with the ball first and splatters them.

Maybe they are doing their weekly boxing tourneys again? Bring in some nasty swagger.

Not this year. 2020 will be a different story (provided none of the JRs move out).
They have half the offense that Webb does and less than half of the defense this year. They aren't very good as Juniors what makes you think they are going to turn into real football players over the winter

I wish,,,,Thursday Night Fights under the streetlight in Alba was much fun. I remember one night Josh Holden and Spieker hooked up. Josh rocked him with a good combination and Adam put his hands up and said “that’s it” lol

Biggest thing that makes me hesitate on Helias is the fact they only beat Monroe City (21 ranked Class 2 team) 49-24. Unless that game was 49 to 0 in the first quarter, that's a rough one

All their key players especially on offense are JRs. Worry about Ladue this year............then we will revisit this in 2020.

They had a new starting QB that game due to injury. Took a little time to get adjusted to everything. Plus it was a game where Helias has nothing to gain and MC has everything to play for.

AHHHHH makes sense. Still a bit troubling though to allow that many points. If that happens to a Webb, Ladue, or Camdenton team, each of them might have a rough night on offense but Monroe city still gets shut out

Whoever comes out of the Lathrop Maryville game on Nov 15 will be a factor, I agree. Both teams extremely well coached and diciplined. Which would be part of the recipe in a successful bid to knock of LN

Lamar is not where they have been the last few years but remain very well coached and won’t be an easy out.
Yes plus they are on easy side of bracket, avoiding Maryville, Lathrop and LN. I have not seen Ava and not overly familiar with them, but Lamar being so well coached could easily come out of that side

Webb is one heck of a team but I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch . West Plains is pretty good and in their district. Camndenton next ....they are a nightmare matchup for Webb . I honestly think we can beat Ladue . Camndenton is my worry . I'm also not sure on the health of the qb situation. #1 qb has been hurt off and on all year but last week he had to be carried off the field and was in a walking boot after half . The guy who was the backup is out for the year ...he had Tommy John surgery. Then it comes to the sophmore QBs ....one of them broke his back this off-season and transfered to IMG ACADEMY in Florida ..the kid that's playing throws the ball really well . He's also a decent sized kid . He reminds me of Cash Link his Jr year though. He makes some amazing plays , he also fumbles at an incredible rate. Most are botched center exchanges . I think Webb can win with him . But if he gets hurt .....Webb either needs to go full time wildcat / pistol because it's a big drop after him.

#5 is good though. He's going to be a stud in the future.

Edit : #5 is a junior. I thought he was a sophomore
