State championship predictions

Cards I think you are blending 2 conversions. The Archie on is about roster size by the private school one was about enrollment
Maybe yall not reading everything idk?
Tad said I forgot a class
I reminded him 8man isn't football so it wasn't forgotten it was left out on purpose and then I stated I'd hope a C2 team could win 8 man.

Tad and I go on for days about 8man.
For understanding purposes I don't think 8 man should be a thing. If you have enrollment to play as many teams with as low as 90 prove it can be done then play. If you can't then either find a way to change the culture and get the students out or coop with another low turnout school.

I have nothing against Archie themselves just hate they don't play real football

Most interesting games are Classes 2, 3 and 6. That being said this has definitely been the year of the shocking upset would love to read what others think..............

Class 6 - Nixa not having a rush less than 3 yards all season makes me like them.

Class 3 - Two best teams in this class, gonna be a great game. Going with Seneca on a coin flip.

Class 2 - This may be Fair Grove's best team and best chance to beat Lamar. Pretty high bar, though.

I have coached for 30 years in various parts of the state. My first stint in nw missouri 25 yrs ago I was derogatory towards 8 man. After a decade in northern missouri I am no more. I'm pretty sure they block and tackle. It is a different creature, but it is fb. Saying it isn't us like saying racing modifieds isn't racing because they aren't late models. Two different creatures, but still racing.

we will disagree all day but taking away the tackle position and a bunch of good defense schemes is shit

Rutgers- Princeton 1869 was 25-man. 11-man seems a weakening down more so. It went 11 to basically be parallel to cricket and field hockey if the articles are correct. What was also learned is 6-man has been around since 1934. I really wish Missouri would move 8 to 6, and be like Texas. This would hopefully push the Dadevilles and other spots in the road to add Friday night lights. If you can have 5 for basketball, yank the benchwarmer up and make him play 6 with you in the fall.

also change of plans i will not be at all 6 state games. thanks to recent events i will be sitting out the C1 game and finding a nice warm place to watch the SEC championship. Hook em

I have friends who coach 8 man. I drew up def schemes, very hard, always a man short, harder to set the edge, difficult to have an alley player, more 1 on 1 tackling. Cause an older DC alot of indigestion.

Class 0.583 Adrian 28 Penney 7
Btw, how ironic is it that Veer BLASTED this class last year with 36 teams on repeat about 3483 times, and now this year at 38 teams, not a peep. Guess this year it's a legit class? Just very funny to me.

Class 2: Lamar 34 Fair Grove 28
Fair Grove's defensive style of blitzing 7 is not gonna work this week. When they are forced to sit in a true 3-4/5-2 I think Lamar can find some room. FG presents many issues for Lamar's short-handed Defense. They will score some. Should be a great game.

Class 3: Blair Oaks 28 Seneca 21
If BO had their two best skill guys, this wouldn't be close in my mind. But they don't...so it will be a good game.

Class 4: Lutheran North 40 Festus 14
Great season for Festus. They have some very good players on their defense. LN too much.

Class 5: Platte County 28 Helias 17

Class 6: Nixa 28 DeSmet 24

I've certainly made light of the class with varying decimal representations throughout the season.

There is no reason that class shouldn't be at least 40 for both competitive balance and ease of districting.

You valle boys seem awfully upset. Happy Holidays and enjoy class 3!

If posting back in the grid paper background era makes me old, then call me Miles Davis.
In all seriousness I told Veer the other day if Adrian would have played in 98-99-00-01 like this in the semifinals, there'd have been sparks coming from my old WEMOfan username in the high school computer lab.
I am becoming an expert on "old". 60 sure sneaked up on me fast.....................

Adrian should win pretty handily this Saturday BTW.

I understand the indigestion it could cause!
To compensate for “always a man short”, have NG and NT attack the A gaps. This will require 3 to block 2. Stand up Ends attack the pocket. Cover 1 on eligible receivers. Results in D living in the backfield and getting there quickly!!!

C1 Adrian
C2 Lamar
C3 Seneca
C4 Lutheran North
C5 Platte County
C6 Nixa

2 titles for KC
3 titles for SWMO
1 titles for STL
I agree with your picks top to bottom, would only add that I think in classes 4 and 5 the semis with LN and PC gave them a much more difficult challenge than the finals will IMO.

I'm unfamiliar with Blair Oaks beyond the fact they are Blair Oaks and that coach is a legend at this point. But I keep going back to the Seneca Lamar score, makes me think Seneca will be too much for anyone in C3 let alone a team missing key contributors. What's the scoop on Blair Oaks for the uninitiated?

C6 Nixa-LSN was essentially the title game. Upon further review that one may not be all that close Friday night.

Seneca was going to beat Lamar that night anyway, but I wouldn't put too much stock in that game score. Lamar coaches made the decision not to play 6 to 8 starters that game to get them rested for district. looking back it was the correct decision Lamar had nothing to gain playing the players that needed the rest.

This just shows you how few Springfield area folks there are around this forum anymore, but a SPG metro team possibly winning C6 is huge news. Not to mention what it says about changing demographics.
I am waiting for the Nixa Galleria grand opening! All kidding aside yes it is huge but I think several of us thought this may happen when one of the best HCs in Mississippi HSFB history hired on................
