Staley 27 Raytown 7

I attended the first half of this one.....................looked like a potential classic early but way too much Falcons D and physicality for Raytown who appeared very much to be the team who never had been to this level before while the Mean Green Falcon Machine was in high gear on that side of the ball and their O Line won all half opening huge holes for the RBs...................#53 with a pair of defensive TDs, though, was far and away the MVP. The semi should be a great one!

Sounds like Raytown unprepared. Blocked punt. Going for it on your own side of 50. Loose with the football.
They just flat looked like a team unprepared to play a physical, fast beast like Staley. From the outset they seemed unsure of themselves..................

I don’t think Staley’s that good this year.
The D is very good. The offense is still stinging from losing the starting QB...............but he did dress and appear for one play today.................

Staley is down. It is hard for me to think they win a title. Maybe.
Without the starting QB no doubt it will be much more difficult. Hosting Jackson next Saturday will help.....................don't envy any team having to travel that many miles.

I think Staley has plenty of talent especially in the trenches and all across the defense to be competitive with just about anyone. But not real sure what’s on the other side of the state.

That is what makes this time of year so much fun! Apples vs. Oranges. Unless you are an all star team like Lutheran North or DeSmet.

Lot of knowledge about the Bootheel... Staley is very admirable on defense, especially to hold multiple top-ten teams in the state to rather low scores. However, I can promise that the Jackson offense will likely surprise you. One of the best coaches in the state and plays high-tempo. Definitely the Kansas City game of the week!

Staley is a microcosm of this year in large class KC Metro HSFB: Solid D. Other side of the ball kinda shaky ALTHOUGH I would love their chances should the starting QB somehow return Saturday afternoon.

Whats the story on Jackson’s head coach?
The story on Coach Eckley is here.

He’s written a book, too.

Some people might think Eckley’s all about the passing game but Jackson’s offensive stats are virtually 50/50 for the season, and that’s after losing their #1 & #2 running backs for the year in their second game.

While it is true that Staley is playing with a backup QB, the kid played a pretty solid game yesterday vs. Raytown. He was much improved from the last week vs. NKC. Their entire team effort was better yesterday. Raytown's mistakes snowballed as the game progressed and they never did get on track.

Raytown was also the victim of some odd/poor coaching decisions. As athletic as Mannng is that kid had ZERO desire to hit or get hit on Saturday, other than Staley's #53 (STUD), he was far and away the most athletic player on the field but did always show it. Once their qb went down they were toast!

Other than 53 Staley is just a solid, well coached bunch of kids. This may be the end of the road for them this year. Staley and all of the class 6 teams in KC are just solid this year. Not a special team in the bunch. Not even close. This year the best athletes were actually at NKC and Raytown.

I didn't see anything from NKC that made me think that and other than the Manning kid, Raytown was far from impressive.

Staley is far from impressive as well. Raytown had the 3 best athletes on the field this week and NKC has the three best last week.

The brutality of especially the Class 6 defenses racked up a lot of key injuries, too...............but these deep programs as a whole were just not quite complete enough to match up with someone like DeSmet (which was very evident last Saturday). I am obviously focused like a laser beam on 2019 BUT still say watch what is going on at Liberty North provided that staff stays intact the next couple of years............

I totally agree on #53 ! He has D1 written all over him. i'm surprised that they didn't put an 80's number on him use him as a tight end with the speed that kid has.

Like so many teams this year the Falcons have had lots of offensive troubles..............this week vs. a very, very explosive Jackson will be most interesting.

Yes. Staley is the better team. My point is that Staley and Class 6 KC lack special athletes. NKC and Raytown had six between them.
Didn't show on the field or scoreboard. Along with #53, Staley had #50 and #9 on Defense and #1 on Offense was also pretty athletic. You keep hating!

No doubt Staley has some good players. Just saying there are no big-time skill guys and Simone candidates at Staley or any of the Class 6KC schools. Raytown has three big time players as does NKC. Staley has one, but they are clearly the better team.

Staley has a Simone Award, they'd rather keep playing football.
