Only Carnahan had football as the others were co-oping with other STL public schools.

Go back about 40-45 years and Sumner was probably one of the top 5 programs in the state. They were still pretty formidable into the early 90’s.

Kinda sad the downfall of Sumner. It was once a great school. I remember watching Webb City play them back when the cardinals were new to the scene. Playing a big school with history of success from St Louis seemed like such a mountain at the time.

Just like the Ampipe teams in the 80s! The doc only shows the 83 team but most people don't realize that Coach Nickerson had some great teams in 81 and 82
