SRVC Week 7 Pick em & results

Colorado has a national title. Colorado plays in the Pac 12.
If Colorado was still something to talk about, the Pac 12 would be saying they have Colorado who has won a national championship in their conference. When touting the strength of the Big 12, do you think they point out all the national titles that have left the conference or do you think they claim their members (including Texas) have won X number of titles?
They may claim it but thats silly. Does the big 10 claim Nebraskas? I should hope not.

Since Lockwood is in the SRVC I don't consider them a WEMO team.
Miller did play (and lose to) that Lockwood team with the Shorters in the playoffs one year in a rainstorm (is a mudhole required in the WEMO?). If you call that a loss to the WEMO, that would make it 1-1.
I'm pretty confident Lockwood handled Adrian in 02.

I'm pretty confident full speed Adrian would have rather seen Lockwood in the dome in place of a team with NFL players like Hayti.

Has PC decided if they're leaving the conference? With GF numbers way down and LW's coming that may spell the death of the SRVC.

Actually Lockwoods numbers aren't heading that way. This years 8th grade class is the only one with low player numbers, 2 or 3. But the 7th grade is back up with 15 or more and the numbers beyond that are good. Lockwood will not be hurting for numbers in football any time soon.

We have somewhere close to 40 kids on the team.. like 12 or 13 are seniors. Even with losing those seniors to graduation, we'll still have enough to play 11 man ball, and that's not counting the Jr. High players who will be freshmen next year.

I really don't know and am asking, is Bouldin inelligible next year because of age? I was told he was but have no idea.

I won't cry if it folds. Never wanted to leave the Mid Lakes to begin with. That said, Lockwoods numbers aren't that bad and Greenfields are getting better. They will all need to get better to handle Miller in a couple years. That Jr high is incredible.

Just hope that talent carries over to the high school level. It's a totally different level from Jr high to varsity

That, I don't know.. I've heard a dozen different stories, and likely none of them are correct.

I know he did say it doesn't hurt to walk or run on it but he is waiting on clearances buy the med powers that be.

Most of us at Greenfield never wanted out of the Mid Lakes either. After the last few years they are probably happy we are gone. 8 man puts a strain on the conference

Actually were not happy that Greenfield is out of SRVC. Hopefully they will be back next year.

I meant Mid Lakes is happy they are not dealing with our 8 man or 11 man drama

I knew what you meant.. I just worded my post wrong. All I really meant to say was that I hope Greenfield can play 11 man next year and come back to SRVC. It just isn't the same without the Dade Co. Superbowl! :(

Greenfield is the only SRVC team to go 8-man so far; like everyone says, hopefully they will be back soon. As for McAuley, they aren't actually in the conference, so if they can't get their act together (they can even recruit for crying out loud), then they may be faced with scheduling as a true independent again. I'm not sure the SRVC is dead entirely (although an 8-man and 11-man division may have to be in distant future plans if rural areas continue going to the big farms and the small towns continue turning into meth communes). If Pierce City leaves to go back to the Mid-Lakes, they will be a smaller fish in a bigger pond (if the Mid-Lakes is also considering Warsaw, etc). Just some thoughts.

PC won't go without scratch and Diamond. A lot more road time if the Eagles went to Mid Lakes by themselves.
