SRVC Week 5 Pick Em & Results

I have no dog in the fight but I think I heard Greenfield had 30+ players out and playing 8 man ? I know there's 2 yr cycles but u had to at least know u guys were going to have mid 20s players why not come back to 11 man ? I think that's why Greenfield is taking so much crap... Stay 8 man win come 11 man be middle of the road lets say anyway I hope to see Greenfield back in 11 man soon.

Greenfield had 14 players commit to the team in December when we had to decide if we were going back to 11 or 8 man this cycle. Also yes we have won some games but like Lockwood we have beat nobody.
We only have one more home game I don't see how that is a knock on us. We have traveled to Arkansas, Kansas, and just a few short miles from Iowa to find games what are we supposed to do play JV teams that are close?

I wasn't knocking Greenfield... Yo have you seen my local team play ? Lol.. I thank it's great u guys had 15-17 new kids show up that's great.. But people will always hate. I know my team is going to suck for the next 4 to 5 yrs so I dont sweet it

The knock on us comment was geared towards tigersfan poking fun at our lack of home games. We don't have to have home games we will travel to play VARSITY Football

Pierce City was supposed to have 7 junior high games. We will play 4. The conference has numbers problems at over half of the schools. Don't see it getting better anytime soon.

Lockwood better go 8 man STAT because what goes around is getting ready to come around. Imagine what they'd be like right now if they didn't have Bates.

Wow no love for Greenfield! I do remember, in the mid and late 80's , when the Lockwood kids came to Greenfield to play since numbers were down and didn't have enough to man their own team (of course that was mighty mites and junior high). I believe Diamond folded in 92 or 93 due to the same reason, because we only played 8 games that season due to the opening. So Hopefully Lockwood and all its current greatness doesn't have to follow suit like Greenfield and have to dumb it down to 8 man just to allow their kids the chance to play football, you know since us Greenfieldians are selfish and basketball minded like that Its going on everywhere, lower numbers. Im just happy I can still go cheer for my Wildcats. Even if its in 8 man. Go Big Blue!

I wonder if the problem is not enough boys or not enough boys that actually want to play? It would be sad to see this conference slowly go to 8 man football altogether. Nothing against 8 man I'd just prefer to watch 11 man.

I've been noticing over the last few years at a few of these schools theirs a lot more what you might call Sissy boys... You know the kind that end up being girl Friends.. That and I've heard it said a lot that some boys are just scared to get hurt so they refuse to play. I personally know four very athletic boys from a near by town that refuses to play bc of the chances to get hurt and miss basketball and baseball.. If these boys played this towns fb team would be better imo

That likely comes from little league coaches that dont know what they're doing.
