Springfield Kickapoo 53, Troy Buchanan 33 FINAL

Both seemed to get more into the flow in the 2nd as would be expected. Kickapoo does seem to be keeping this one at their pace and have a fairly clear inside advantage.

Shorter (34) is an absolute warrior on the court. I don't "think" the talent is there for them to win it all but if there is a more fundamentally sound program than Poo I'm all eyes/ears, folks.

Game being called pretty tight so far. Fouls racking up.
STL officiating lets teams play. Incredibly physical games and actually takes away from basketball being played. A lot of times it's just the teams that are biggest, fastest and strongest that win the local games.

Final 4 is being called tight. Tough adjustment for Troy.

I wish STL would call things close to the way they do at the final 4. It would make for better basketball.

That game wasn’t called tight. Troy was just too small. Couldn’t get into offense. The guards are too slight and got driven off their spot.

Kickapoo dictated the pace from the start. Very experienced program that expects to be here every year. I still think it was called pretty tight early.

If you think St. Louis officials 'let teams play' you should see how it's called in the SEMO area. When teams from here go north they feel like it's called pretty tight.

Did you watch the Ritter-Pembroke game? They all but mugged and tackled each other at times no calls..................

No but that's pretty normal around here, even in girl's games. The Doniphan-Neelyville girls game at Doniphan this season might have been the roughest HS game I've seen since the days of Tyler Hansbrough playing for P.B. I've been telling everybody on here that they need to clean it up for pushin and grabbin and not let everybody carry the ball instead of dribbling it and maybe even call 3 seconds in the lane once in a while.

Glad you mentioned that because more than one game today you could see (much) more than 3 secs in the lane multiple times.

That and 5 counts on holding or dribbling the ball while closely guarded don't get called much either.
