You are so clueless, love the black players on our team , just don't like ANY private schools from the city (all white, black, green etc) that play in class 2. If you're from the city why aren't you a big enough ol' boy to play class 6? Ya gotta come down to class 2 to win?? Pretty weak

You’re showing your (old) age, thinking that kids that play at a Class 6 school are automatically better players than kids at smaller classification schools. Additionally, Trinity and Lutheran North aren’t in St. Louis City. There hasn’t been a STL Area Class 2 school that won State in decades. Trinity and Lutheran North REGULARLY schedule Class 6 and 5 Missouri schools and Class 8 and 7 Illinois schools. I can’t remember ANY small town Class 2 or 3 school even playing up to Class 4 in years. It’s notable that I don’t see you bitching about any other private schools here. Deep down, it kills you to see Trinity and Lutheran North kids get the opportunity to play college football. Stay mad. It’s only going to get harder for you to watch it happen.

What would a Maplewood be considered?

You do realize I hope that most kids go to college because of acedemics and not cause they can just run fast

Maybe if Trinity, Ritter, Lutheran North, CBC, DeSmet, Chaminade, Vianney, etc weren't poaching the cream of the crop talent from all the public schools that wouldn't be the case?

Why would I realize what your hopes are? That being said, Lutheran North student-athletes scored an avg of 27 on their ACTs last year. Being admitted to college based upon academics isn’t really a concern for them, but it does make me wonder why you’d suggest it’d be a problem. It isn’t their players’ grades that people cry about on this message board though.

Poaching? Lol. This may come as a surprise to you, but families are free to choose to send their kids to private schools. They don’t “belong” to the public school district that their families live in. You get their property taxes, but not their children.

Again...let's call it for what it is. There are some posters on these blogs that hate to see those (black) kids succeeding. It's not even like they win state every year. Trinity & Lutheran North are not State Powerhouses. They are constantly hated on in these blogs because of their status and ability to get kids to college.

Somehow Cardinal Ritter continues to elude conversations and THEY will be crowned State Champions in a couple months (Class 2).

The Ritter/Lutheran North rematch is definitely going to be a good one. Ritter seems to be continuing to improve on all of the things that got them the win in Week 2. While Lutheran North is running a significantly different offense than they did the first 2 weeks of the season, with several additional players on both sides of the ball. If they do end up meeting again, I don’t know how Ritter wouldn’t be the favorite though.

Until the past couple of cycles, a number of Class 2 schools played up to Class 4. I know for fact both Moberly and Kirksville were Class 4 opponents for Macon in the recent past. There's other examples across the state and it wouldn't shock me to learn of current situations playing up 2 or more classes. Not sure how your points help your argument that the 'playing field' is remotely close to equal anyway. It's not. That changes next year.

Speaking of, I can see why the privates agreed to and I guess even proposed this system. After winning and moving up you either succeed and stay, or eventually move back down to feast once again on lesser than's. Rinse and repeat.

Centralia played Mexico and Duschene who were both class 4 in 2010-2011 and has played mexico every year since

I believe it was Butler who did that at Lamar several years ago. Maybe a year or 2 after we won the 1st state championship. All came out and stuck their team flag on our 50 yard line in the Tiger head. It didn’t go well for them that night....nor the next year at their home field.
I was thinking it was Warsaw game when Lamar gave them 80 some reasons not to do it again. Bailey is not a fan of that kind of stuff. Trinity did it a little before the state game against Lamar.

Yes I remember when they were the team to beat in class two and then poof they were gone. Did their players go to the private schools?

No. All of the families (that could) have been moving to the Parkway, Ladue, Kirkwood and Pattonville school districts. It's hard for many public schools in low income communities to compete with some of these County public schools with state of the art football facilities. Have you seen these crazy nice video boards. Public school recruiting at it's best.

You didn't manage to make it a racial issue. Try again.

What i heard is that school dropped football, possibly for insurance reasons.
a lot of kids from maplewood end up at Webster Groves, especially for basketball. Public schools recruit.

People have grown to loath recruiting, probably from experiences in youth sports --where you have some douchetard sweat that gets a talent loaded team so they can boost their ego and win $25.00 trophies. Same thing from a few of the smaller private schools in the state in high school.
