Sounds like some of you might get want you want

I ran into this at both Liberty North and Smithville. The war on cash............
It was at Carthage semifinal game where I saw it. LOTS of people walking into the ticket booths then walking back out. Also things like Jr high and HS kids getting dropped off that may or may not have a phone but no credit card so they can't purchase a ticket and are basically stuck until a parent can come back and get them or buy their ticket.

MSHSAA's handling of post season is absolutely shameful.

It ain't just in Missouri. A lot of states have gone digital only. Here in the sip every game I've gone to the tickets haven't been activated by gate open time. It's a mess.

MSHSAA taking over all revenue streams from schools come playoff time without providing ANY support other than a top notch pirate stream sniffer is the biggest slap in the face to the membership I can ever remember. While it's doubtful they are kicked to the curb they sure have earned that with their recent actions. Don't see this in the other states I've lived in. Here in Mississippi you can still watch all the championship games on brodcast tv with rabbit ears and any playoff game for free online if either school has a crew.
Here is some information on what MSHSAA brings in

Here is the last audit I can find Football and basketball look to be the most profitable of the sports.

They need to be pressed by the member institutions on why the most recent audit made readily available on their website is from 3-4 years ago. There needs to be an outside audit done each year, and made easily accessible to the membership. The cost of an annual audit would be money well spent, if it is not already.

Disastrous front to back agree.

To be fair, something like this should not happen, at least in mass. At least around here the fact that only electronic tickets were being sold was hammered in day after day.

Charging $10 for a playoff ticket due to "processing fees" and then absolutely refusing to offer a cash option when you've done cash only for 50 years is equally as egregious. False advertisement to claim they're 8 dollars.

Want to buy a ticket? Card only.
Want to buy concessions? Cash only.

Make it make sense

Does every sport now do online tickets only for the playoffs? I assumed they went to online only to keep schools from taking a bit off the top (to pay for expenses, not get rich obviously).

Most of my super liberal friends from college don't do private school because they don't like religion and most private schools are religious. But they did buy homes in Brookside or wherever while mocking the racist white flight urban sprawl that everyone else was buying.

But when they had kids one by one they quietly bought homes in Kearney or Grain Valley when faced with the choice of putting their kids in KCPS or paying for private school. Only one couple I know is still in their liberal (springfield) neighborhood but they told me not long ago they desperately want to move out of the city but are afraid it will send the wrong message because they were such vocal proponents of SPS prior to having kids enrolled...so they feel like they have to "tough it out".

In this area almost everyone I know with kids in private school is religion/fear of indoctrination/fear of your kids being contaminated by the wrong crowd.

In St Louis it seems like it's more of a social status thing.

Going to a religious school because they fear indoctrination? Isn't indoctrination the actual stated goal?

Do you think when they kick the privates out they are going to stay in the MSHSAA? Don't think so.

First order of business, all transfers from public schools get immediate eligibility. transfers between privates sit a year. Also I'm pretty sure they can get some sort of TV contract for semis & finals. Not that I don't mind paying money to hear a couple students who know nothing about any sport do the call.

Bring it on

Don't confuse the Mosports herd mentality with the wishes of school administrators- who actually have a vote.
