It looks like Kozma WILL be on the opening day roster along with Grichuk. They need to find some good way to dump the guy who was supposed to take Jay's spot in CF. He hit better with a bad hip at the end of last season than any other time.

Kozma is the new emergency catcher/ss/outfielder.
He is a winner. Matheny doesn't give up on people like Eagleballs.

Kosma has had a nice spring and is out of options so it makes sense for him to win that job. He has had some big plays for the Cards and has been the best player in contention for that bench job this spring! Bourjos has been a flop good thing we got Grichuk in that trade. Can't wait for Sunday night go Cards!!!!

I've got no issue with either being on the roster. I'd have an issue if either were penciled into an everyday role, which neither are. Koz is a good utility option. Can play SS at a reasonably high level defensively, runs well, and is athletic enough that he should be able to play multiple positions in an emergency. And to me, Grichuk is a nice 4th OFer option. Should provide some righty pop off the bench, which this team needs. I suppose, in a perfect world, he'd hit enough to slide Heyward to CF and Grichuk can play RF everyday. Hey, a guy can dream!

Some folks just cant stand an outfielder that doesn't hit 20 to 30 HR's or steal 50 bases. I can't imagine what Jon Jay would have to do to keep his job if these folks managed the Birds.
