Somebody teach Marp to bunt!

He was up with a runner on 2nd and 1 out late in the game. The closest defender to 3rd base was about 10 feet from 2nd. If he wasn't so dang hardheaded he could have bunted the ball hard, or just slap it to the left side, and he is on, moves the runner the to 3rd and if the left fielder isn't quick to the ball the runner scores and Marp has a double. I don't get why they don't wanna make em think twice about that shift. It ain't like he's a 40 HR guy they would feel about taking out of what he likes to do.

I don't necessarily disagree. But if no defender is near 3B what can't the runner just steal the base?

I don't know why they don't try that but that wouldn't get Marp on base instead of striking out in this case. He does the same thing if there is only a runner on 1st, he refuses to slap it or bunt hard to the left side.
