and trying to silence conservatives for a very long time.

The discussions by silenced individuals have been on-going for over 4 years.

It's in part the impetus behind the free speech movement.

They've consistently hit the little guys. Now they've hit the big guy.

There will be much kicking a screaming but I doubt anything will happen.

This “their silencing conservatives” stuff is hogwash. I have been suspended from Twitter permanently for spewing the exact opposite of “conservatism”. This victim mentality Trump has instilled in you people is unbecoming. And it ain’t manly.

But there are ways around being suspended on all these platforms.
Crazy. You don’t get suspended from here for spewing that same rhetoric. But the almighty twitter bounces you.

Makes sense.

I'm waiting to see what executive order gets signed. Guarantee it's ruled unconstitutional since twitter is a private company and the government shouldn't be trying to regulate them.

Having said that, lawmakers COULD push for twitter to lose their legal immunity from libel suits if they continue acting as a publisher by editing the posts of its members.

Trump SHOULD just leave the platform, but his pride won't allow that.

It doesn't surprise me you don't agree. Two things can be true at the same time. You got banned. You see things your own way. I think your view is small.
Again, this was slowly unfolding before Trump. I was laid up for 4 mos. in 2015, and I accidentally discovered Jordan Peterson and the Canada situation. The campus protests prior to that led to more. Professors getting fired etc.. It's my guess it started there.
If you have no context, then you don't. It's not your fault.

Totally agree. Social media in general is interfering in the election it's not just twitter.

The worst things to ever happen to our society was 24/7 cable news channels and social media.

Facebook didn't help Fat Donnie get elected in 2016 ? Really...

So can we also say that CNN and Fox are both guilty of election interference since they only express one side of the political view?

trumpy wasn't flagged because of his political view, he was flagged for "possible misleading information" which is true since there is no proof that voter fraud will happen with voting by mail. He stated that as a fact when it is his opinion. Isn't trumpy trying to interfere in the election by trying to stop voting by mail because he is personally opposed to it, and by making statements as fact when they aren't facts.

All he had to do was say "I THINK fraud will occur with voting by mail". He did not offer an opinion, he made a false statement presented as fact. But that's would Don the Con does on a daily basis - he makes statements presented as factual when he is just making it all up.

Let's just all agree nobody knows if there is fraud or not at this point, there has been no study no verification of any sort. What we have done is assume that all mailed in ballots were not fraudulent and checked less than a % of them.
To be sure you would need to do a study of all mailed in ballots to 100% verify that they were indeed correct and all by registered voters. Until we do that we will never know for sure if there is fraud or not.

Trump was flagged for his political view on the premise of possible misleading information. Regardless of your opinion of Trump there are politicians, celebrities and individuals of all political ideologies that post things every day that can clearly proven to be false.

Honestly I’d rather have a forum where people can flat out lie whether I agree with their point of view or not than have someone/anyone decide what is truth and what is not.

Depending on where Trump goes from this I could have a real problem with trampling on 1st amendment rights but Facebook is even starting to fact check sites like Babylon bee that are clearly satire. More freedom of expression, not less.

To be clear, I oppose the voting by mail initiative and believe there will be some fraudulent ballots.

My point was trumpy was flagged because he made an unsubstantiated claim as fact and not because of his political view.

My solution to alleviate crowds at ballot places is to spread it out 3 days - last name A-H on Tues, I to P on Wed, and Q to Z on Thurs - extend voting hrs to 10pm, and put a gag order on all media from reporting early returns, exit polls or projected winners until the polls close on the last day.

I debate with friends on facebook and a couple guys have posted articles that were recently flagged. That started a couple months ago.

Trump has lowered our national standards so much we are debating if lies should be sent out to millions of phones and computers in an election year without being corrected.

Absolutely!! The simple solution is for our POTUS to stop sending out tweets and making statements that aren't true. Is it so hard to say "I think" or "in my opinion" before making his predictions? But not trumpy, he has done it all his life - keep repeating a made up story long enough and people start to believe it.

CNN maybe.

Fox doesn't try to hide the fact that they have a conservative slant. Same as MSNBC doesn't necessarily try to hide their liberal slant.

CNN actively tries to pose as an impartial news source, which they are OBVIOUSLY not...cough...Don Lemon...cough. So yeah I'd say they are a threat to a fair election. ANY propaganda machine that tries to act like they're impartial is a problem.

1. It is not the job or function of a social media site to determine what is or isn't true.

2. Even their "fact check" hedged its bets by saying the statement "May be Misleading" because the reality is, the statement may NOT be misleading as well. There's no way to know for sure and Twitter knows that.

3. There is a CLEAR political bias in why Trump was singled out. I understand you refuse to acknowledge the person who did the "fact checking" is even more of a vocal liberal extremist than you or Duck, but not acknowledging it doesn't make it untrue.

4. Unless Twitter's "fact checker" can prove there are "actual Nazis" in the White House, shouldn't stuff like this have been flagged as "Misleading" or "Unsubstantiated"?

The heritage foundation has long case study of election fraud. There are many ingenious and not so smart frauds.

I agree. It's interesting to hear Zuckerbergs opinion of how Dorsey runs Twitter.

As for the executive order, It's a bizarre take.

I have to say more regulation by the Federal Government is not the answer.

Once they get their fingers in the pie down the road?

The 230 rule is a good rule, in regard to comments for liability purposes. Biden has said (who helped sponsor 230) wants it gone. Which means automatically, without knowing as little as I do about law, it's bad.

230 was meant to protect the company. They should police porn and curse words and not be held liable when they police. They should not be liable for comments.

I have no solution. Just thoughts.

Not sure how CNN "pose"s as impartial but no one believes it. I don't watch much but didn't know their motta was "fair, impartial news". repubs complain about fake news, but that obviously doesn't apply to trumpy. No one on your side will admit that trumpy's statement about fraud with voting by mail was baseless, instead it's the same ol' blame game blaming everybody but trumpy, i.e. the so called "sarcasm" statement about injecting or ingesting hydochlorquinine repubs were trying to sell. With trumpy, you never hear "I made a mistake" or "I misspoke". At least Joe owned his mistake.

Lol you talk about republicans not admitting things. I've posted the question several times and you refuse to touch it so I'll ask one more time, but you'll decide to be a hypocrite and just focus on when republicans refusing to make admissions...

Does the "fact checker" at twitter have a personal agenda and bias against Trump? Yes or no?

You can choose to avoid the question (again) but then you're no better than the republicans you who you claim only see things through the "Republican lens". Don't be a hypocrite.

I have no idea about the fact checker but sure you will inform me of his bias. Doesn't matter - trumpy made a statement presented as fact when it isn't an established fact. Don't you get it? He makes stuff up all the time and presents it as fact, and it's not. He's the friggin president for chrissakes, and deserves to get called out every time he says something not true, but Don and the Trumpettes always want to sing a chorus of the old song by the Bloodhound Gang, "Why's Everybody Always Pickin' on Me".

People are tired of hearing his lies!!!

Lol I made several posts detailing the "fact checker" biases. I know for a fact you saw them because they were in a thread YOU started and I quoted your original post when I responded. So you do know, you have been informed. You CHOOSE to be ignorant.

By even responding with "I have no idea" you show yourself to be a liar and a hypocrite. Don't talk about Republicans burying their heads in the sand when YOU do the exact same thing.

You hate the president and you can't be intellectually honest as a result. There's a name for that...it's Trump Derangement Syndrome. You don't have to like it and I'm not trying to be funny. Your hatred/derangement has removed you from being remotely credible.

I saw your posts, I don't read other people's tweets, just somebody else's opinion . I don't read links either. I can paste and copy other people's opinions but then it is no longer authentic.

You can't deny anything in my post. Instead, all you can do is name calling, personal insults, and your same ol' repub drivel.

If a president makes a public statement that is false, anyone has the right to call him out for it. Now, since you won't admit that, continue spinning your blame game....

The tweets I posted were FROM THE GUY TASKED WITH FLAGGING "untrue" tweets. You're getting it straight from the horse's mouth. You're telling me THAT guy has no bias?

Your comment makes no sense. Either that or you're being intentionally obtuse. Probably the latter.

You won't admit who is at fault here - IT'S TRUMP - but realize you would have to go to "trumpette confession" if you admitted he lied. Continue blame game....

Over and out

Educate yourself. I can't do it for you.

Laid it out for you in YOUR thread. Or keep ducking and dodging reality because you hate Trump.

Your idea of education is trump indoctrination in reality. You are a trump version of Charlie Manson's Squeaky Fromme. Or can you go against your self-described "chosen one" and admit he lied? No you can't!! In your cult world, "Donald is God!! Donald is love!! Donald is truth!!" Trump's sending you a message on The Beatles White Album if you play it backwards!!

Lol why are you getting mad? Why can't you admit the guy who tagged the president's tweet has a MASSIVE bias. I gave you all the information, you don't even have to go search for it. But even with it right in front of your face you refuse to admit it because you are a poster child for Trump Derangement Syndrome. Instead of admitting you might be wrong you get ridiculous and post a bunch of cult word vomit.

You make yourself look bad. If you can't look at all that information and admit that a far left influencer with a little bit of power at Twitter targeted the president because of his bias then you have zero credibility as a poster.

Did any of you watch The Great Hack on Netflix? This thread reminded me of it in the fact that the documentary starts off with Brittany Kaiser working for Google or Facebook to get BHO elected. She was then hired by Cambridge Analytical and did the same job / tools to help get Trump elected. Praise was heaped on her helping BOH and when the same tools got Trump elected she turned whistle blower.

She works for trump now.

Hmmm

There are people who still can’t understand how inappropriate and dangerous it was for Trump to push the use of Hydroxy-C in his position as president. France has outlawed the stuff now. The CDC says it’s dangerous. Fauci said it doesn’t work and is not worth the risk. But the president of the USA was promoting his friends product like he was on the QVC network. This is so much a cult it’s unbelievable.
