being taking advantage of by universities and third parties for decades. $$$$ billions of dollars worth over the years..maybe a trillion. made alot of scrupulous white devils rich over the years. it appears the forward thinking progressives to the west were right all along and the righteous change and fairness it will bring to these younglings and their families. oh i know the arguement...they're students first..free education..eye roll. message board all stars...you have the floor.

The only real next question in my mind is if NCAA moves to a system that is transfer friendly, while also paying players, Is the NCAA going to attempt to put in a rule that more or less locks a player into a multi year 'contract'.

Hypothetical example: A mullet QB from Kent State starts lighting it up, what's stopping Leach & Mississippi State bringing him in with the idea that he's going to make more money right away & probably start as well. Just curious if anybody has anything thoughts(or have heard anything) on how NCAA could handle what would be permanent Free Agency.

The NCAA is going to have to change or they may be left out. They won't go lightly but they have gotten away with shit for a long time.

missouri is one six states where NIL rules will be effectively legal on july 1st. if youre a recruit and deciding on playing destinations the states getting on board later rather sooner will lose recruits for their universities.

The students ability to make money and go to school on a sports scholarship should not be connected.

Kids that go to school on an academic scholarship, can write a book about the field they are studying and then sell the book, a kid playing a sport should be able to profit off of their number, likeness etc while at the school.

Yes they should make money on likeliness. Colleges and NCAA have made ton off these kids. What I bet will happen is now it will be like pros. They will have these kids sign more of a business contract.

curious if the monies will eventually trickle down to the highschool kids pre graduation and/or post graduation...maybe..maybe not.

lol
the only players that will make money are the offensive skill guys
there was a reason no one made a thread about this topic. BS

thx for making an excellent point on a discussion board regarding a subject not deemed worthy of discussion...according to you.

You have to wonder about some athlete that might would have gone to a HIGH Level d1 program but would not be a star might, now, choose to go to a lower level where he will be the man and be able to pull in some $$$ that he might have to wait in line for at the name brand school.

Heard this happening in NIL regarding a top football program:
Flagship radio station will pick five star players; they will come on for a segment every week of the season and earn $25,000 for the year.

I think most will agree the players deserve something. There is already a handful of teams who legit have a shot at a national championship (Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, etc) year in and out. Seems like this might keep the gap and possibly widen it between the top tier and everyone else.

Adding Clemson to the above group, and I'd argue the gap has never been worse. Any attempt to introduce parity in NCAAFB has to be considered an utter failure. The NCAA's billion dollar bureaucracy chasing down teenagers with an extra pair of shoes, or having made too many phone calls home has created a sport that less than a half dozen teams have a NC shot.

Reading this very interesting and topical thread got me to thinking about what future locker rooms' atmospheres will be like? Seems like there would be increased jealousies between teammates.

There might be but that will be anyway. It will change the sport all around. Not just college.

It will certainly cause come divide, I have more yards than Billy but he is getting 10 grand more than me. My guess is there will be 10% or so of these kids who make any significant money, the rest a few dollars to come by and sign autographs, etc.

To me, if the school or NCAA is selling your jersey, then you should get a % of it. Then give all scholarship freshman $8,000, sophs $12,000, etc. Give a $10,000 bonus for graduating. Give them two round trip plane tickets per school year. That takes some of the shady stuff out of it. There is no perfect answer obv., and they didn't call for my opinion.

theres one lol
good job op
you have proved my point

not exactly...thats one i posted. do some research. its already blown up...hundreds of kids already have sponsors lined up. its going to be thousands in due time. dont be so naive.
