Seed Team Record Points Next Opponent Next Game
1 Webb City 5-0 55.67 Nixa (5-0) 9/22
2 Camdenton 4-1 50.2 Rolla (3-2) 9/22
3 West Plains 4-1 49.85 Lebanon (3-2) 9/22
4 Carl Junction 4-1 48.8 Carthage (3-2) 9/22
5 Hillcrest 2-3 33.35 Kickapoo (1-4) 9/22
6 McDonald County 3-2 32.7 Lamar (4-0) 9/22
7 Bolivar 1-4 25.2 Logan-Rogersville (3-2) 9/22
8 Marshfield 1-4 20 Branson (2-3) 9/22

CJ could temporarily pass Camdenton since the Lakers play Class 4 Rolla. But over the next two weeks Camdenton regains that edge and more, playing Class 6 Joplin while CJ plays Pittsburg Kansas, a Class 4 school per MSHSAA calculations.

Many other factors too, such as opponents' records. A bit too early to start trying to play out scenarios in such a tight race. I predict however that CJ, West Plains, and Camdenton won't all finish 8-1.

I would agree with you that not all will end with one loss. I hope that CJ/WC have the potential to meet up in the finals if they take care of business instead of the semis. It would just be a better environment. In the end, it doesn't really matter when they play.

The short answer looks to be no. I did some number crunching and if everyone wins out by 13, the COC goes 8-0 in non-conference play and Pittsburg is 5-2 with only losses to WC and CJ here is what I come up with as the final standings for 2nd through 4th

Camdenton 54.218
West Plains. 52.778
CJ. 52.525

The difference between WP and CJ would be less than 3 points in margin of victory. Each point works out to .111 in the final average.

So if WP wins one game by 10 or less it makes it a possibility but realistically the chances are very slim unless WP loses a game and Camdenton would certainly have to lose.

Would CJ be better off playing Springfield Central instead of Pittsburg?

With West Plains losing to Lebanon CJ now has 3rd locked up if they win out. Camdenton still has the inside track on 2nd but right now looks like Joplin has a good chance to win.
