Could have been a one-game deal. Seems Kearney's neighbors are seizing on the opportunity at revenge (witness tonight where Smithville was trying to run up the score up 34)................now on to the District playoffs. Shoot at this point why not Lincoln Prep as the feel good playoff story of the decade?

And I've been trying (you kinda defended the HC last year) to tell folks the K program is on a downturn................which now seems like falling off a cliff. Only thing I can slightly hang my hat on is their top player #11 was suited up but didn't play tonight.
If Kearney doesn't have #11 and plays like they did offensively tonight maybe BUT still think something has gone awry at PC.
ACTUALLY because of head to head Kearney is now confirmed to go right back to Smithville next Friday night...................
Much as this was a mismatch I doubt Coach Ambroson and the Warriors are too thrilled to see this matchup. Very tough to get back up quite the same way for the same team where everything will be on the line. THIS, to me, is perfect actually. It will show for all to see whether these coaches and players have it in them to swallow this loss and come out swinging for the one that really matters.................but they gotta play light years better than tonight!
With #11 I would like their chances to hang in, actually, but Smithville flat out has better lines and more offensive speed. As we all have seen there have been some weird reversals in immediate rematches like this..............but again K CANNOT play like they did offensively tonight. That was really hard to watch...........I'll take Kearney.
Perhaps but they are waaaaay better than they have showed in some games this season. Again getting #11 back could make a huge difference BUT they do still suffer from a flat out lack of talent especially on both lines.
I promised not to "let it all rip" until the entire season is played out BUT GETTING VERY TIRED of the lack of maturity/discipline I see on the field. Crazy, crazy scenario where they go right back to the "scene of the crime" in just one week. Question is will #11 do more than suit up??????
It is, needless to say, all on the line next week. Not making any excuses for that lackluster effort BUT tonight was pretty much a pride game. Again I have yet to meet a HC who honestly seems excited to play a rival two weeks in a row like this. Will be very interesting to see if the K staff learned anything (agree with you about some of that issue but gonna stay quiet until this all plays out) and how the game develops. Laughlin was a shoestring tackle away from a breakaway and another deep pass was off fingertips in the first quarter..................reverse those two plays who knows how things turn out.
Not an easy job no doubt. Jones was a tough act to follow.................look what is happening at LN imagine how things will be when he leaves there, too. I try to avoid calling for anyone's job but I just flat see lots I don't care for. The only ones who know the REAL issues etc. are those inside the program. I am far from one of them (just a passionate fan).
I only mention the hotness of Kearney moms because it magically showed up in a post, then disappeared just as quickly as it appeared. I've never even been to Kearney. Went to and played for Odessa. The only other team I cheer for is Ampipe!
