Example of what happens when a team used to zones runs into a team that plays a man. Skyline doesnt play safe, doesnt play scared, they come at you instead of just letting you shoot all night.
Agreed. Skyline plays aggressive man. Saw it first hand. We played them in the Weaubleau shootout. You have to have solid guard play against them.
Clever is missing their 6’1 girl Gladney and can’t guard around the basket well especially without her. But they also had trouble defending Quennoz #1, the Skyline point guard. Barb #10 for Skyline is a handful inside and they seem to have more depth than Clever does.
Very tough to win in their place. They really turn out the crowds for a small school in a rural area.

The red head from Skyline held her to 10 points. She’s maybe 5’3”....what is Clevanger going to get done against a 5’9”+ guard in D2? She’s not Drury material
She missed a lot of open looks that game, shots she normally makes. And when she drove they had two or three defenders waiting for her at the basket. Kudos to Skyline for playing good D - and she faced several different defenders, not just the short girl - but again Clevenger had looks that she normally makes.

She got 5 against the jv at the end of the game when they started pressing but I guess that still counts.
Not sure what the motive behind this and the other post is. Do you not think she is a great player? She had an off night, and overall Skyline had a good game plan defensively against her. That's all there is to it. She's still the same player she was before this game.

But for the record what I said wasn't necessarily derogatory. The player named is a very good player, otherwise she would not be headed to college to play ball. I was just stating my opinion that another player is better. Nothing wrong with that, but you are correct that I should not have named names.
As you can see, there are others bashing a player in this thread. Maybe call them out too?
Her outside shooting is needed on that team for sure. And the Kickapoo bigs were way too much for Clever in that game
Not saying she isn’t a good player or that she can’t play at the next level. Just saying she isn’t Drury material.

Clevenger has had the offer from 3Rivers for a little while now. She also has an offer from Evangel, a partial from UCM, and a partial from Drury. I guess the guy who thinks she “isn’t Drury material” must know more than the DU coaching staff who has tried to work out a package for her with the limited scholarship money they have in the 2020 class. Drury had 1 full scholarship for this class and they gave it to Katie Scott, who I see as an all-American type signing for them. If she doesn’t end up at Drury I would love to see her and Holland team up at 3 Rivers together. To anyone who hasn’t seen Jordan Alford play at CC, take the time too. That actually is a pretty good comparison. Alford can really play.
Yeah Coach Wiggs told me that last night, I just hadn't talked to the coaches much lately. When I saw the conversation about her on here I asked him about her at their home game last night.
