Show Me Bowl

I've said UCM on previous posts, to which people responded there isn't enough hotel space. Which is complete B.S. There are five hotels in Warrensburg, and 20 within a 15-20 mile radius. Beautiful campus and stadium. It could easily host a series of games.

Parking would be a major issue at UCM for sure!

I do like the idea of MSHSAA investing in a state of the art facility in Columbia to host all events championships. They could even host the semi finals then in football to earn more money.

I wonder if Mizzou will open the South End Zone Lounge area to the Missouri football coaches association. I think that would be a win-win for both Mizzou and the Missouri high school football coaches...no?
This... This is how you get to be coach of the year in your conference! I fully support this idea; perhaps add an all inclusive "beverages" package.

Even if they don't open that facility up, there are more coaches in the state than they can handle; we can over run the security forces at "The ZOO". Think about it, if every coach and their staff pregames on Natty Lites and we storm the gates with our "Hit Somebody" parents, there is no way they can keep us all out of the lounge. East Side, West Side; Private, Public; doesn't matter, lets join forces and come together for a meaningful cause: watching MO HS football championships, with a beer in our hand, in the comfortable luxuries our state university has to offer!

It would be nice to build an appropriately sized indoor venue and locate it centrally in Jeff City or CoMo and yeah even having semi finals there could be fun. But the economics don’t make any sense to me. $100,000/year in rent savings won’t go far at all on that project.

Let’s look at North Dakota’s 21,000 seat Aleris Center which looks nice but certainly not over the top - cost $80 million to build in 2001. Even if we could replicate it with 2001 dollars that’s 800 years of dome rent savings just to offset original construction cost, not including interest expense, operational expenses, repairs and maintenance, insurance on an $80million facility, etc. Utilities alone on an indoor facility of that size would exceed $100,000/yr.
