Chris Cavanaugh of the Warrensburg Tigers

After building Crest Ridge into a Class 1 perennial powerhouse Coach Cavanaugh left this past summer to take over Class 4 Warrensburg and in his first year at the helm netted a 5-5 record and the best season since the 2011 campaign. Congrats and great job!

Jake Vencill of the Windsor Greyhounds

In Coach Vencill’s second season at the helm the 8-3 Greyhounds produced their best record since the 1989 season of 8-2. It is only the 5th winning season since 1989 (93, 99, 03, 12, 17) and only the 5th time since 1949 the program has broken the 7 win barrier. The Greyhounds also went an entire season without an opponent obtaining a running clock on them for the first time since the 1993 season. All three Greyhound loses were to 10 win teams (Adrian 10-1, Crest Ridge 10-1, Lincoln 10-0) and by very competitive margins. Congrats and great job!

Crest Ridge was a perennial powerhouse?

3 coaches new to their schools showed some impressive improvement in the west central area. Warsaw went from 0-10 to 5-6, Knob Noster went from 2-8 to 5-6 and Smith-Cotton went from 5-6 to 9-1.

It's "Cavanah," forks. Son of HOF coach Dave and nephew of HOF coach Shane.

I think they stepped into a favorable schedule. A few close wins over mediocre opponents won't help you step to the top of Webb's district.
yes it will, just not immediately. Any coach will tell you that winning a few games, even if its against bad teams, will lead to improvement. Success breeds success, lack of success breeds low numbers, lack of commitment to the process, and lack of confidence in a schools ability to win.

Ok buddy! For starters, my name is BOSKO!!! Second, Im not really sure what you mean by "special funding." My booster club is financed and backed by 100% legitimate donations and fundraising!
yeah, yeah yeah, Okay...whatever you say "Bosco...Boosko..or whatever you say you are." Ever heard of the Pony Express...SMU? yeah...okay.

Easy there buddy!! Youre getting close to crossing me! Ive been the Ampipe Booster Club president for over 20 years and never once have I had a scandal or been accused of financial corruption! I run a clean ship here in Ampipe! Will I run a coach out of town? You bet! Will I set hot headed teens straight? Without hesitation! Take a hot donation or illegal funds? No way Jose!!!
