Last year, out of the blue, West Plains is loaded with about 300 seniors on their roster and they suddenly land across the state in district 1. This year? District 6.
Don’t tell me that wasn’t a rigged deal. I won’t believe it.

Well, seeing as west plains has been bounced back and for for the last 20 years between being districted Southeast some years and Southwest others, doesn’t seem that abnormal.

Hell, there was about 6 years straight from 2004-2009 they were sent out east for districts.

The two years before that, they were in with Branson, Ozark, and Nixa back when they were all Class 4.

They have the bad luck of being the only Class 4 school within 90+ miles of where they’re located.

2002 and 2003 they were with Nixa, Ozark, and Branson

2004, 2005,2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 they were districted out east with a mixture of Sikeston, Cape Central, Poplar Bluff, Farmington depending upon the year

2010, 2011 they were districted with Hillcrest, Republic, and Marshfield

2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 they got sent to the big SW district in the current format

2018 they got sent back Southeast again

And now 2019 back to the SW.

I’ve been following West Plains football for almost 2 decades. They’ve been bounced back and forth between districts more than any other team based upon their geographic location.

Definitely not rigged.

So 2010-2017: west
2018: loaded-East
2019: back west

Just a coincidence. I am not saying WP
had themselves shipped east.

I agree with everything you said except one thing. West Plains ain't the only Class 4 team within 90+ Look at Kirksville, Hannibal and Marshall. Yes Marshall is 56 miles from Warrensburg but can't find a way in that district because there too many NW and Kcity area teams. These teams don't have choice since they're in middle of small School area teams

I think you are taking that wrong. He's not saying they are the only Class 4 school in that situation, he's saying the next closest Class 4 school to the Zizzers is 90+ miles away.

That is correct sir.

Yeah. There is no district you can put West Plains in that doesn't involve a lot of travel. Because of the Ozark Confernce affiliation they fit ok with some the school in the Southwest but if there are an odd number of teams in SEMO they can get moved there as well.

For an exercise sometime map out all 64 teams in class 4. It is tough to come up with 8 team districts that don't have some serious travel.

Class 4 district one right now the longest trip would be Windsor(Imperial) to Sikeston. It is straight down 55. Not a bad drive at all. District one should have been this way last year. Making teams travel all the way from Festus to West Plains was total BS. I have to agree with Duck on this one. There were some shenanigans last year.

West Plains was in district 1 6 years straight from 2004-2009. I guess West Plains is just used to the travel since back then they were traveling as far as Cape Central(186 miles) for districts and as far as Joplin(179 miles) for conference play

They should just go back to 4-team 16 districts.i map it out and West Plains farthest travel was (122) miles.

If it was a 4-team District, closest for West Plains would be:

West Plains
Rolla (99 miles)
Marshfield (92 miles)
Lebanon (99 miles)

Other options:
Hillcrest (114 miles)
Willard (122 miles)
Camdenton (122 miles)

In the Zizzers current 8-team district:
West Plains
Bolivar (143 miles)
Carl Junction (179 miles)
Hillcrest (114 miles)
McDonald County (201 miles)
Neosho (182 miles)
Webb City (179 miles)
Willard (122 miles)

I ran the miles from school to school and not town to town.

If the only consideration is how to best put together District 1 you are probably right. Literally though one team different in the class make-up could shuffle everything. West Plains isn’t in the district with Webb City, Carl Junction etc if Republic and/or Carthage are Class 4.

Schools like West Plains, Helias and Camdenton are sitting in locations where they can jump to one side of the state or the other.

I ran it from School to School. I map out the 64 teams for 16 districts and the best teams make sense for West Plains was Rolla (99) Lebanon (98) Camdenton (122). I wish West Plains was still in district 1 because they would have a shot for the championship game

If it was a 4-team District, closest for West Plains would be:

There are only 48 teams in this example. I guess the other 16 get to start wrestling and basketball early.

Not very polite to leave out all the KC area teams.

I have added district 13-16. I left them out because I was showing them what istrict West Plains possibility bre in if it was a 4 team district. Since West Plains has been to the East and West in the past 17 years

If Monett has just 3 more students they are class 4 and that would have pushed west Plains out.

Hmmmmm...your school misses the higher enrollment classification by just a few students. This sounds like a trick used by a certain booster club president or two......
Oh ha ha ha! I am happy to tell you Shoot, I know a good lawyer. You keep making these allegations, you might find yourself on receiving end of a court summons!
