Well for the most part it was a great day only downside to today is I have lost all respect for Liberty Football team. Kicking downed players and then jumping on a downed player after the kid who made the tackle got up is just ridiculous. Get better Liberty

Now that you got that out the way, what'd you think of them football wise ?
Smithville played them pretty well from what i saw but maryville and the other blue school were just outmatched size/athletically. Will definitely help them get the ready for their season schedule though.
Liberty's O Line is massive and the new QB has some size and an arm. Didnt see him run at all though and i know liberty usually runs some sort of option scheme with the QB (Last 2 years at least). Their defense was a sight to see though. Met and talked to mama Bindle while there. I was informed somewhere between 6/8 are still Juniors.
Saw senior CB make some great plays and according to Twitter/X, he got his first D1 offer today
Smithville transfer QB is gonna fit in well. Had complete control out there.

GV was right where I expected them to be, more polished on O than D, LBs seem to be slow to make the read and then timid to trust the read they make ( they will get there with time but our early schedule doesn't allow for it) DBs seem undersized and have me worried for PC game.
Smithville was much further along than I thought they would be for a new coach they will be tough in C4, I have not seen Kearney yet this year but they have a damn talented defense and a great coach that will be a damn good game to watch after getting home that Friday night.
Liberty is a damn talented team regardless of their actions at the scrimmage I have already stated that they have made me a believer in them being in the conversation, however C6 is just loaded in KC do they have a gauntlet.
I didn't watch a lot of Maryville because when they played GV Liberty and Smithville were playing and that was fun to watch.
Liberty lucked out this year
They inherited a similar schedule to what Oak Park had last year. Their 2 hardest games are BSS and LN. Then the suburban red conference. If im not mistaken, they for some reason play raytown as a NC opponent. If they start the year 2-0, my money is on them to finish 9-0 pretty easily.
I love smithville's culture. It looks like they havent missed a beat.
Thank for clearing up that was GV. I was thinking harrisonville. Im not a fan of that codensed offense. But 3.3 every 3 plays is a first down every 3 plays lol
I think BSS will be a force this year as well, if they grow at all from last year they are solid.
Smithville still has that small school feel to it, love the town and was #2 on my list when I moved here with GV obviously coming in at #1.
GV since I have been here has always had a better Offense than defense so it makes sense for them to try and have long tough energy draining drives. With a methodical approach. Not my favorite either but I understand it.
I am sickened Kearney and Platte County discontinued their long series this fall. These three Highway 92 schools are gonna light it up again in 2024. Week 3 at Smithville should be one of the top atmospheres in all MO this regular season.
Liberty returns pretty much every key player and will be good but Week 2 hosting Liberty North will be very telling.
Smithville may not be the best team in the area this fall but agree it is without a doubt the best culture around. Offense will be their issue. No idea who their QB, for instance, is slated to be.

It may have been you who pointed it out but BS South was about as competitive a 1-9 squad as you will ever see so agree. C6 in this area overall will be up this season lots more team depth but will any emerge to do what Liberty North pulled off last December? Early read over in the Lou is DeSmet may be the team to beat. As always love CBC's non-league slate wish some of our KC schools would do that.

Sir I lived in Texas for 11 years, while I do love some MO FB it would be great to see the difference played out on the field not just in opinions.
