I get that... but when a person paints with a broad brush and not really think about what's really happening right now, it makes you wonder, right?
While I like all levels of football, history is happening right before our eyeballs. For the longest time, I used to be of the opinion that most guys that play college ball go pro. Furthermore, college level being the training ground for pro ball. That's just such an old position to take, especially with name and likeness you have to consider now. This is what I see: we have college athletes right now. They have not played a single down of NFL and depending on what university they're at and who they are, they're making money due to NIL. - In some cases, athletes are getting contracts that pay more than minimum salary contracts for players in NFL. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that; these athletes work very hard to get to where they are, and they deserve to be paid totally. But keep in mind that not every college football player will make it to the NFL. I just think it's wonderful that these athletes have a chance to generate this type of revenue and hopefully they do well with it, but I just don't think the entire college football scene is just a proving ground for the NFL... and I don't care what the data says. I personally believe athletes at that level, if they can get paid and they're going to get as much as they can, while they can, if they make it to the pros or not. There are far more college football programs, than professional football programs. I think you have to consider the college football experience and that the athletes really do enjoy playing the game and getting that experience. The name and likeness money, it's just a bonus, because for years, not every college football player, had an opportunity to gain the revenues that they now have access to, and they don't have to necessarily play ball. Sorry about the rant people.
