Festus did something this past week, and I was wondering if it’s been done before. They won Boys Track AND Baseball State Championships. Has any other school done this? Same season with two state champs (same gendered sport). For the sake of my question I am omitting Swimming, Golf, Tennis. If you want those included have at it, but not what I’m looking for.

Fall: football / soccer / cross country
Winter: basketball / wrestling
Spring: track / baseball

Girls sports seasons are slightly different but you can figure it out.

I feel like Kearney may have done this with wrestling and basketball perhaps? Maybe?

Three State Titles this year: Kearney Girls won the state championships in Softball, Wrestling, and Track this year. And got third in cross country.

Lamar football and track 2013, 2014.
Valle football and track 2011

I think Lamar won state football, cross country and track one year? Someone will need to confirm.
Lamar has won football and Cross Country in the same year 3 times.
2012-13
2016-17
2017-18

Kearney won the 2009 C4 football title then the 2010 C4 basketball title a few months later. The record books show the same for 2003 and 2004 but the latter was due to Vashon having to forfeit a title they won over the KDogs.

One boys one girls but I drove home from Liberty yesterday saw a very, very nice tribute at the entrance to Liberty North HS where the baseball and spring soccer teams just won concurrent titles.

I think OP means 2 same gender titles in the same sports season.

Winning two state titles in the same season and in the same gender in two sports is very hard.

in 2016 Monett got close won the state title in football, finished second in soccer, lost to John Burroughs..Had some really good athletes that year for sure. I think the kicker for the football team was the goalie on the soccer team that year. The year before that he nearly lost his leg when he broke it during a football game.

Yikes. Hope it healed in full and he's doing well.............

It always amazes me how some classes are just loaded with talent in every sport. How did some hit the genetic jackpot for that entire year of kids.
Seems like Webb City's classes of 1997 and 1998 were that way. Just stacked. They were stupid good at football, basketball, and soccer and it wasn't even the same kids just playing all sports. I remember several going to state in swimming as well. I believe some of the girls sports were abnormally good those years too.

Then came the class of 1999.

Lutheran St. Charles in 2021 won Football and Soccer. Finished 2nd in Cross Country I believe.

I know it wasn’t at the same time, but what Stanberry did in 2015-16 in Football and Boys Basketball has only happened once. They were undefeated state champions in both sports. Only school to ever do that.
Centralia 2003-2004 won both basketball and football. Don't think basketball was undefeated though.

Sarcoxie's boys won track and golf in the same year. Had a kid that golfed at Stanford. I'm probably wrong.

If I am remembering correctly, Fatima won state softball, state cross country, and lost game 3 of volleyball state championship 25-21 in 2014. Fairly impressive...

Here is another one: Brendan Cary won a State Championship in 2 different sports for North Platte this year (Girls Cross Country and Girls Track&Field). What others coaches won two state championships this year?

Mark Sabala of Hermitage did the same this school year except with boys in C1.
Perry Black coached Warrensburg U-High to a 1A Football championship in 72 and the next spring in Class S track.
Jim Freeman of Plattsburg almost pulled off the same in the 79-80 school year winning 2A FB but finishing 2nd to Monroe City in track that spring.
Jesse Griffin of Lee's Summit West Girls did the same as Cary in 18-19.
Neal Blackburn of Rock Bridge Boys did the CC and TF duo in 20-21.
Rodney Baldridge of Lamar Boys did the CC and TF duo in 12-13.
Probably others I'm sure.
