He is a total class act.Why on earth would St. Pius ask Coach Byers to resign?

But he's still the AD. So who asked him to step down?
rumor has it he got pushed out for a youth coach from the Necco Raiders. Simone ring a bell
Spx was a power right up until staley opened.Let’s be fair. he may have got pushed out after losing his last 4 games 192-25. That and mailing it in for the last 10 years. And completely blowing off summer workouts.
It was time. He wants to keep coaching, we will see where he ends up. He is going to have to up his game though.

I wouldn't lay their coming back to earth on byers
I suspect they're going to get a daddyball coach to lure some talent. We shall see.Unless they turn to the Saint Louis model for small privates I dont see them having success in the MEC. They would of been better served if they had joined the KCI.

Yes. Yes you did. Out loud, too.Simone...hmm? Simone...seems like there is an underboss with that name. Redfront bar comes to mind. Did I say that?

Totally neat.I have always thought a KC private/charter school conference would be neat - St. Pius, Pembroke Hill, St. Michael's, Hogan Prep, University Academy, Summit Christian.
They have been in MSHSAA since at least 1960.What were they in before the MSHSAA? What's the NSYFL and what happened to it?
There is a lot of truth in this post.Interesting case study in coaching football, the growth and decline in communities, and shifting talent in football programs. Coach Byers was an excellent coach when those were in his favor. When the community changed and the talent fled it no longer mattered if he was Bear Bryant, he wasn't going to win. There are a lot of great coaches out there, Coach Byers included, who have really hard jobs at really hard places to win. My hat goes off to all whose ego's can handle the suffering and criticisms inherent at the hard jobs: they are the best coaches
Too many on this board hero worship the coaches with the jobs being fed by top-notch communities, and unfairly criticize those willing to take on the true challenges posed in less socially affluent communities. It's always gonna be the Jimmies and Joes!!!
Report by PrepsKC say St. Piux X (KC) has hired Anthony Simone Jr. as it's new head football coach.
