I swear, MO is wearing on me now too. I don't understand the roster moves. Huffman for Voit? Seems silly. Why not Sierra or Bader? Can actually provide some OF help. And some speed. Mayers for Seigrest? Seriously??? Move should have been Weaver. Weaver to the rotation, Wacha to 7th inning role. Let him blow gas for an inning. Obviously lacks the stamina to be a starter. And Weaver would provide more than the BP level pitching Mayers does. Baffles me what the GM is thinking. Matheneging is rubbing off on him.

Ever think that may have been the other way around all this time? How many managers of teams that have won for years survive what has happened to the Cardinals this season? Just a thought.

Doubtful. Too much evidence of Matheneging from day one of his tenure. There's a reason he's got zero respect in the league for his tactical decisions.

This really hasn't been as hectic a year as you think it has been. 74/75 games started by our beginning of year rotation. Yeah, we lost Reyes in March, and we've had some hitters go on the DL, but it hasn't really been as crazy as you're making it out to be.

Some of the foibles were purely self-inflicted as well - the Adams nonsense and leaving Pham down on day 1.

I was talking about a manager keeping his job with this team having this record, not that he's had bad breaks and the record is ok because of it. Was it Matheny's decision to send him Pham down or?

Difficult to say from the outside but I'd be surprised if Matheny didn't have some say in who was the last outfielder on the roster

And, for some reason, Pham's not one of his guys. Which is odd, because by all accounts Pham is one of the no nonsense guys. Not the graba$$ type like some of the others.
