In last night's game with KC a ball was hit down the 1st base line and the 1st base ump made the foul call when the ball had NOT passed 1st base. I've always been told that is the HP umps call until it passes the base. On the replay the ball was clearly foul but they said that is NOT a reviewable play until it gets past the base. Why on earth would it be more important to get that call right AFTER the ball passed the base? On the play the Cardinals turned a DP that took KC out of an inning. I'd say that was a pretty important call in the game that could not be reviewed.
