for the first time since this freshman class was in diapers lamar and nevada square off to renew the rivalry for oscar the silver tiger. Lamar currently has the trophy having beat nevada in 05 on their field 21-19. You only get 1 chance to throw the first punch when restarting a rivalry like this and i think we will see bailey come out swinging. I dont think the question is does lamar win the question is when does bailey take his foot off the throttle.

It's too bad they had to take a break the past decade or so because Lamar would have closed the gap in the overall series. I think Nevada has about 15 more wins in the rivalry.
Lamar by however many Bailey allows. Isn’t it something Nevada can’t get a Football program going?
For whatever reason, they have had a revolving door for coaches the past several years. Their current coach was there a few years ago, had some success, then left for Republic. He is back now, and if he stays, I believe he will turn things around. It just takes time to build a program.
