truman didn't realize there are several race fans here.................keep those comments coming HBL et al! FB will be here soon enough but, in the meantime, it is RACING season.

It was a fun, very fast event like they all are but Rico made a very bad move right in front of the field on Lap 3 that essentially made the finish anti-climactic. I will try to upload my own quick videos one of these days promise!
I watched it on flo. Rico ruined several peoples races. He's not someone who does stuff like that regularly so I won't hold it against him too much but it was quite the mistake!
Weather was awesome! He made it a bit of a snoozer for all but the most avid NASCAR fans. I'm a Larson fan so it didn't bother me too much but he can sure stink up a show when they hit things right.
Track was very unusually dry slick (Lakeside, as you likely know, is in the MO river valley) and was almost as dusty as Eldora gets (quite the feat) so I think he just caught a slick spot and slid up but yeah should have controlled it better especially early in the race lots of time to make the pass for the lead.
He admitted Saturday morning on X he didn't celebrate per normal because of owning his huge mistake. That end was very professional on his part.
A born champion spotted him when he was that "nobody" back in 2012 who shocked everyone at Knoxville IA winning the Wednesday night prelim show (anyone who has attended the Nationals knows how hard just making the show is let alone winning a qualifying night).
Interestingly he and Rico were teammates at that time and I believe still run a racing school back in NorCal.
