Racing Thread (for me and Top) Everyone else carry on!

What track or tracks do you typically go to @thetophat2021?
I first saw Larry Legend in 1970, old Bolivar dirt track, watched him at fairgrounds in Springfield in 1970s, Trickle, Reffner, Wallace,Martin, Shear golden age of ozrks racing. Loved the old I 70 track , my favorite track. Saw Adam Petty win his first race of any kind in 1998 in an ASA race at I 70. Slinger in Wisconsin, Winchester in Indiana on my bucket list. Five Flags Snowball derby, New Smyrna in FL during speedweeks also on list.
Larry best short tracker, do it on dirt or asphalt. Dick Trickle amazing on asphalt short tracks. Shame Larry is in HOF.

Loved the fans reaction at the old, old I 70 when the White Knight and his Purple #99 mustang pulled into the back gate!

Old school ASA NEVER forget Bob Senneker!

All kidding aside would love to chat you up at one of these races bringing my notepad and pen!

Trying to make I 70 this Sunday evening but their website is down and nobody answering their land line, either. Outside chance I hit US 36 this Friday. A free chance to see who is running weekly up at Knoxville this year.
Rain is wrecking everything now it's cold, too. At the risk of exciting super troll NKC I don't enjoy attending races in the cold................

I worked two years on Scott Palmer’s Top Fuel Dragster from 18-19 then Alexis Dejoria Funny car in 2020! I grew up going to Boothill speedway in Shreveport,LA, moved to Monett in the 7th grade pretty much spent all my sundays going to the races. I enjoy all Forms of racing, had plans to go to the Jason Johnson Classic this weekend down at the new Arrowhead speedway. Try to make the Show Me 100 every year. We attended the first ever High Limit race at lakeside thought that was pretty cool. Have lots of cool stories from working on the road. Got to hang out with Kyle Larson on a Tuesday in Indy while we were testing, he was hanging out at the track with Jr Todd. Got to spend my 28th and 29th bday on Fremont Street in Las Vegas! My first year there was a hurricane in Charlotte during the week so we couldn’t set up, a teammate and myself rented a truck and drove around to see Hendricks, Roush, Stewart-Haas, Chip-Ganassi, Kyle Busch truck team, Jr Motorsports, Kasey Kahne sprint car team, Penske and DEI. The weather made the shops ghost towns, it was special day for a life long NASCAR fan. PurpleandGold08 and myself got to watch the NASCAR cup race from the pits of William Byron in 19. Was surreal to be hanging out in the pit and Joe Gibbs just casually walks by. Happy to see Monett has a new owner investing lots of money into the track.

WOW way beyond cool! I may try to hit the Show Me this year been since a very oddly cold 2021 that I've attended that one. Lakeside is hosting High Limit May 8 that is a 100 percent guaranteed show I will hit. It being on NASCAR weekend 1 of 2 at KS Speedway should make it quite the packed joint with everyone not on the Outlaws tour there!

That would definitely be an enjoyable evening. I have said for years in would like to go to Lakeside and watch Terry Phillips in a USMTS race. Have you ever been to Batesville for the Topless 100, no Bosko it does not involve the female persuasion. Interesting track and race.

Yes but has been many years. Terry is still getting it done in a Mod made a smart move exiting the DLM I think. Will check the USMTS schedule and see when they plan to run Lakeside...............

Friday night August 22 is the Jayhawk Classic. Great timing for me because I never attend Jamborees............

I gotcha. I watch/follow pretty much everything. Gonna age myself here a little bit, grew up going to I-44 speedway when it was asphalt watching Jamie McMurray battle it out with Larry Phillips (how is he not in the NASCAR HOF??). My best friend and his family are a HOF racing family so I've gone all over with them. Usually based around modifieds. Have been into the sprint car scene for about 10 years or so, right after Larson made it to the cup series probably.

When it comes to attending, I'll go to Springfield, Monett, Lake Ozark, Callaway, Lucas Oil, Double X, and Sweet Springs. It kinda just depends on where my friend is racing or where the big races are.

I was pretty good on Iracing for awhile, ended running in some broadcasted series. Had a sim rig and everything but ended up getting out of it after awhile. It just took too much time to be good enough to compete with the teenagers and college kids that could race for 7 or 8 hours a day.
Man @trumanbulldog42 Me and top and there was another guy had a big discussion on dirt last year...I am fan had a car once never got around to getting it finished... Monett has put in alot of work this year they are really fixing the Grand ole' lady up.

I love watching racing at Monett, its a pretty high banked track and is actually pretty dang narrow. Makes for some pretty fast exciting racing!

Also if anyone of ya’ll is near the Quincy IL during the weekend of june 28th-29th. They’re a major Karting street race that weekend. One of the biggest underrated races in America.
