I am a dirt track guy. Since my sister and brother in law stopped campaigning a USMTS/USRA A Modified I mainly attend the bigger 410 Sprint Car races. Locals I tend to hit annually are Lakeside and I-70 (not sure they are open this year unfortunately, though) with the occasional major event at places like US 36, I 35 Winston and Lucas Oil in Wheatland.

Regionally never (try to) miss the Knoxville Nationals in IA each August (take week off work for it) and Nationally try to hit Eldora Speedway OH when my schedule allows.

Will forewarn you NASCAR Cup really isn't my deal but do peek in to see how the Sprint Car guys especially super talent Kyle Larson (who I spotted way back in 2012 when he was a kid nobody running first time at Knoxville) and Christopher Bell.

I gotcha. I watch/follow pretty much everything. Gonna age myself here a little bit, grew up going to I-44 speedway when it was asphalt watching Jamie McMurray battle it out with Larry Phillips (how is he not in the NASCAR HOF??). My best friend and his family are a HOF racing family so I've gone all over with them. Usually based around modifieds. Have been into the sprint car scene for about 10 years or so, right after Larson made it to the cup series probably.

When it comes to attending, I'll go to Springfield, Monett, Lake Ozark, Callaway, Lucas Oil, Double X, and Sweet Springs. It kinda just depends on where my friend is racing or where the big races are.

I was pretty good on Iracing for awhile, ended running in some broadcasted series. Had a sim rig and everything but ended up getting out of it after awhile. It just took too much time to be good enough to compete with the teenagers and college kids that could race for 7 or 8 hours a day.

Larry could run on anything and WHAT a character! Agree he belongs there. He was also a great one on dirt especially I-70 during the Greg and Marilyn Weld years (early to mid 80s).

I do want to go to Lake Ozark one day heck have driven by the joint never stopped in! Do you remember I-44 when it briefly went dirt? My favorite dirt late model driver of all time Jeff Purvis? What a daredevil so sad what happened to him, though.

If you never have been do yourself a favor and hit the Knoxville Nationals one August. There is nothing like it................

It was bad fast as a dirt track! 3/8 and high banked were an impressive combination. I can't remember exactly what happened to him....I know there were a couple that passed at some tracks in the area but luckily never had to witness it.

I went to the Knoxville Nationals about 8 years ago and it was the same weekend they had the Xfinity (Nationwide at the time I believe) series racing there that weekend so got to see both. Went to a great bar in downtown Knoxville!

That is the infamous Dingus Lounge. A southern Iowa INSTITUTION. They have the best FREE live music anywhere during Nationals week and lots of Bosko Likey young ladies, too!

Kyle Larson all-time? Holy smokes.

Besides Petty, mine would have to be Mark Martin. Lots of good ones to choose from when Nascar was real.

Oh and OP...

I always go Sprint Car drivers so yes because Kyle really IS that good. Prior to him it was the ole Dominator Dale Earnhardt. Martin always will be ASA in my mind. Another I loved was Jeff Gordon who started in 410 Sprints in the mid 80s.

Swapped out A Mods and USAC because I don't really watch much A Mod action!

410 Sprint Cars - Kyle Larson
Dirt Late Models - Mike Marlar
USAC (midgets/non-wing sprints) - Logan Seavey (The dude drove up on a catch fence to miss a wreck)

Indy Cars - I've maybe watched 2 in my life - Scott Dixon
NASCAR - Jeff Gordon
ASA (It's still a thing!!!) - Bubba Pollard

I love USAC, too, just forgot to list them. I was a huge Bryan Clauson fan until Belleville tragically happened (ultra pleased to see Knoxville build a suite in his honor) also loved Sammy's kid Kevin Swindell another who had a real bad accident (I was there that Knoxville qualifying night amazed he survived at all). Youngster to watch (spotted years back as a High Schooler) is Buddy Kofoid. He is a marvel in a midget makes that car do things it shouldn't be able to.

Interesting DLM pick Mikey is a good one a true outlaw never hung his hat on one series. Modern day DLM my favorite is Jonathan Davenport with fellow Georgian Brandon Overton. Another all timer you will likely appreciate was one Larry Moore...............
