I had heard all the hype surrounding this girl, about how she's apparently the No. 1 player in the state, and I must say that having watched her play in the state tournament, I can understand why. I've been following high school volleyball for almost 15 years now and I gotta say, I have never seen a high school girl hit a ball as hard as she does. I can see now why she's already getting colleges looked at her. I play competitive adult men's volleyball in a traveling/club/USAV team and I am not kidding, she hits better than most adult men. Not only is she a good hitter though but a wonderful setter too, as Winona utilizes the 6-2 rotation. I just have to say that I am beyond impressed with her, and the fact that she is only a sophomore says wonders about how amazing she will be once she graduates high school. I doubt if any other Class 1 teams in this area will be able to knock Winona off in the next two years with her on the court.
Does anyone know which colleges are looking at her? I had heard several Division II schools are. If so, that's amazing. Not only is she a sophomore but in one of the most remote, rural areas of the state where high school volleyball has always been strong.
