Thanks, boss. I had a buddy that had been an assistant FB and maybe BB coach at SC back then and he spoke of the loooooong bus rides. I think, Sedalia just got tired of the trips and went independent or did they join up with a couple of others? Any idea?

Travel was the 'PC' reason given, but in reality the football coaches got tired of losing and wanted out. Based on newspaper accounts, only the football coaching staff was at the board meeting when they voted to leave in August of '83.
