Pujols in his prime vs Adams this year. Which is the better fielding first baseman?
I don't care about Sabre numbers, what do YOU think?

I thought Pujols was fantastic at quick-tagging people on Yadi's pick off throws.
One thing that drives me nuts about Adams is most of the time on a pick off throw he doesn't tag the runner.
I was taught at a young age to always tag the runner in case he slides off the base.
Pujols does that.

Albert's initial athleticism, pre-foot injuries, was much higher that Matt's. Matt Adams could never have dreamed of playing 3B.

That was my first thought. Pre-foot ailments, The Mang was quite athletic. Adams is quite athletic, for a big ol' cornbread eatin' country boy. Sort of like how some offensive linemen are "athletic". The one similarity I see is Adams does have the same overly annoying habit of ranging WAY too far to his right for grounders.
