Public/Private Fix

It's not that private (or public) schools actively recruit kids for sports. It's more kids parents want their kid to go to a school with good programs and legally actually move into that school district or do the shenanigans of renting an address in school district but not live there.

Perfect solution. Just give everyone the right to recruit. Because even if they do separate there will still be the argument of public schools who recruit and those who don't. Then if a kid decides to not attend his/her own district public school, you can get on that kid also. Hmmm. Im liking this idea. I think I feel a petition coming on.

I think mshssa should realign all the Classes except 8-Man. They should go by the average size of the team every 4 years not the enrollment. Example Webb city gots an average of 95 players the past 4 years, there's playing Marshfield Friday. Marshfield has an average of 70 players the past 4 years. Class 1 20-35 class 2 35-50 class 3 50-65 class 4 65-80 class 5 80-95 and class 6 95+ players on team. With private schools large need be class 5-6 and smaller division teams 3-4 classes. I think this would be a even playing field for all teams.
I would love that, just cut your teams roster to the 30-40 kids that actually will play, Webb be lights out in Class2

Exactly! We absolutely need to continue to discourage kids from playing football so everyone can feel equal. Because the fewer kids you bring out? the less involvement you will have from the student body, parents, members of the community, etc ... ... ... ?!

What?! No.
Schools with less interest need to be working to find ways to re-ignite interest. A school that has 80 kids out isn't playing 80 kids. They've worked hard to create an atmosphere where being a part of the team is attractive whether the kids play much or not.

Re-igniting? Well .... That's not 'easy' .... but, hey! What are we shooting for anymore? Easy? Raise the bar.
