Based on the following (from a SW MO newspaper), why wouldn't a team like Lutheran North move up two classes?

"1. Post-season points
a. District Champion: 1 point
b. State 3rd/4th Place: 2 points
c. State 2nd Place: 3 points
d. State Champion: 4 points
IMPORTANT: Points are not cumulative within each season. Each program will only receive the points for the highest finish. If a team wins a state title it is four points only. You do not add district points on top of the championship.

Here are the plateaus for moving up classifications:

2. Point Totals for Re-Classification:
a. 0 – 2 points: remain classified based on raw enrollment
b. 3 – 7 points: re-classified one class above where classified on raw enrollment
c. 8+ points: re-classified two classes above where classified on raw enrollment"

I like the concept, but not the specific numbers. So if you finish 1st or 2nd in state and get 3 or 4 points, you get bumped up a class the following year. For some schools, making it to the championship game is a once in a lifetime thing, and probably graduating some studs, and immediately they get bumped up to stiffer competition. I thought the purpose was to make it harder for schools that dominate over a period of 6 years, not 1 year.

My only argument to that is private schools that are good stayed in the same class as last year because of success factor and the ones that moved up 2 faired pretty well. But i do agree, a strong senior class can f the program for 5 years

Lutheran North has been bumped up two classes. They are a Class 1 school by enrollment. Class 3 is their ceiling.

I don't understand this stuff. How does St. Mary’s and Ritter move up to 4?

i meant by the 2025 season

Private schools have a new point system they go by now!!!!
District Champion: 1 point
State 3rd/4th Place: 2 points
State 2nd Place: 3 points
State Champion: 4 points

Cardinal Ritter has to make the state championship next year to move up to Class 4 in 2022

and St Mary's has to win a district title next year to move u to Class 4 in 2022

I don't understand this stuff. How does St. Mary’s and Ritter move up to 4?

here's What 2022 private points could look like.
The Bold teams are ones who will or Possibly move up a class

MICDS needs 1 more win and they move up 2 classes to Class 5 and St Mary's moves up to Class 4 with their District Championship Last night. Cardinal Ritter needs 2 more wins to move up to Class 4 and Lutheran St Charles need a Quarterfinal win to move up to Class 3. Looks like Duchesne would be the Toughest private school in Class 2 and St Pius X (Festus) in Class 1

Chaminade will be C5 because I think they still double enrollment of non coed schools

Problem solved?
take out those 36, then reclassify with what’s left. Go down to 5 classes because you can barely fill the classes the way it is Now See what it looks like. You won’t like it. Better solution would be to just get better. Or just keep bitching because your school sucks.

I do say that half in jest, knowing it will never happen. I believe the last time MSHSAA schools voted on separate private classes, it failed something like 73% against.

If competitive fairness is the real issue, then I think public schools should follow the same rules in this new system.

I remembering it failing by a good bit as well. What is the reasoning for it failing? People afraid if they are split they will forgo MSHSAA and do their own thing with their own rules (or lack thereof)?

For one, if you anger private school parents they can vote against public school bond issues, tax levies, etc.

Most of the time, the private schools will dominate a class and not just be a 1 and done or a once in a lifetime thing!

Where is Trinity?
