The program also would be limited to students with disabilities on individual education plans and children from low-income families.
Meaning you either have a 504 or an IEP...or you can't do it?The program also would be limited to students with disabilities on individual education plans and children from low-income families.

That's what I read somewhere.Meaning you either have a 504 or an IEP...or you can't do it?
A politician willing to work hard rather than pass the buck? You're new to all of this, huh???Can someone please explain why our state legislature is obsessed with letting students change schools at the tax payer expense? How about instead of appropriating money for voucher programs (which this essentially is) like this, they do their jobs and properly fund public education.

If they want to go to a private school the money should NOT come from our tax dollars. If it does then the privates should have to take all comers just like public schools do.A student shouldn’t be given every opportunity to attend a school that gives them the best education possible.
Most private schools, and rural schools, were full time the entire year. At the same time, many urban districts were virtual or hybrid for a good portion of the year.
Can you tell me why the students that need to be in the classroom the most were not?
The mental stress and logistical problems those parents and students dealt with was uncalled for. This, following years of poor test scores tells us it is time to let the money follow the students, in many cases. The option should include attending private or nearby public schools.
We have continued to throw money at some of these districts with poor results.
By the way, I think MSHSAA transfer rules were not mentioned in the bill
If they get public money they should have to drop their affiliation with whichever church they are affiliated with.If they want to go to a private school the money should NOT come from our tax dollars. If it does then the privates should have to take all comers just like public schools do.
If you want to attend private, pay the tuition. That's pretty simple. If you're not happy with your public school, pack your $hit and move. There's never been an easier time to do it. Last two moves my family made were based a lot on the educational experience our kids would get.The option should include attending private or nearby public schools.
