Predictions for Classes 4 through 6.

I predict a fat kid named Tony in New York City will eat an entire pizza tonight. Not only that, it will have sausage and onions. Because I know as much about Tony and NY city as most of you know about Farmington and St Mary’s and yet you predict an exact score. Let’s all waste time together.
Someone from STL predicted pre-season that St. Mary's would be in this semi..................don't remember who that was but KUDOS to him!

I think it was the GSV guy he was always very high on them.

St Marys has sophomore Kevin Coleman. He’s the best player in Class 4. Probably shouldn’t have underestimated them.
This is a classic example of Apples vs. Oranges coming up at 1:30 PM Saturday. One of those I have basically zero idea how it will unfold/who should be favored.

He has put up huge numbers against mostly average competition. He wasn’t the fastest kid on the field last night nor the best player. I have heard he is being highly recruited as a sophomore, but other than one long bomb, Farmington locked him down most of the night.

Looking over their slate I am very curious did they have injury issues in that 20-point loss to Borgia?

I don’t know for sure. But the Fuller kid at running back has exploded the last 3 weeks. He only had 300 something yards rushing prior to that and has over 500 the last 3 games. He was fast as lightning last night. The QB was also very accurate and has a strong arm. Not a real polished running game, however. This next game could be a rude awakening for them.

Platte County has been consistently inconsistent this year. Not a surprise given their key skill position players are JRs. It appears run D will be key to them surviving and advancing to Columbia. That has been very up and down as well..............

4 PLAYOFFS
Ladue 31 Liberty 7
Farmington 28 St. Mary's 19
Platte County 27 Grain Valley 14
Camdenton 27 Webb 26 (Webb fumbles the ball 6 times --4 turnovers in the red zone)

5 PLAYOFFS
Staley 27 Raytown 22 (Staley inflicts PAIN.)
Carthage 49 Glendale 10 (Glendale is from Springfield.)
Chaminade 41 Fort Zum North 40 (It comes down to three overtimes.)
Jackson 24 Eureka 23

6 PLAYOFFS
De Smet Jesuit 35 Raymore-Peculiar 34 (We marvel at the superiority of all the D1 athletes as they eke out a one point win.)
Fort Zumwalt West 23 Joplin 22 (Joplin fumbles 5 times)

If only those Southwest teams could hold on to the ball, they would have no more excuses.
You went 2-2 in class 4, 3-1 in class 5, and 1-1 in class 6. That’s one game better than flipping a coin. Nice job!

I wonder if the computer did any better. Anyone can get 80% in high school until you get to games where everyone is equal.

If I remember correctly, Calpreps was 9-1 on classes 4-6....pretty impressive. I think the only game they missed on was Farmington/St. Marys.

What was your record, TrophyBoy?
I didn’t come on here and shoot off my mouth about a bunch of high quality teams fumbling their seasons away. But I would have happily and correctly predicted wins by Joplin, Webb City and Carthage, all of whom won by three touchdowns or more. Wasn’t interested in taking the time to research all of the other games none of which I care about, but if someone wants to list me as 3-7 I could care less.

I wouldn’t mind credit though for a fourth win as I would’ve for sure took DeSmet Community College based on watching some of their game last week.

Now, back to shining my trophies.

Coleman is now up to 70 catches 1440 yards and 23 TDs. He’s 15 years old lol.

247sports has him as the 34th ranked player in his class and he is highly highly recruited.

I am extremely curious to know who you possibly thought was faster on the field in that game.

His coach said he is a 4.6. Generally speaking, coaches don’t exaggerate their kids times upward. As a sophomore that means he can certainly get faster in the next two years. A lot of kids do. But there were other “4.6 kids” on that field Friday, including a few of his teammates.

The dominant players on the field were the running backs for both teams. Having said that Coleman is leading the metro area in receiving yards and is second in interceptions with 8.
The kid is a star, no doubt.

I think the only way that kid runs a 4.6 is that he doesnt know how to run a 40 properly.

this looks much faster than 4.6 to me. However Westmoreland from Joplin runs a 4.8 and he looks like he runs that and still dominates so I understand that you dont have to be blistering to dominate Missouri HS football

o ok. I guess when you said they choked in big games I just figured that's what you meant. The other big games they've had i guess would be the district championship games and they've won their last 6 of those.

I was mostly referring to their games against WC almost every year...and Joplin this year.
And a complete meltdown in Ozark in 07 after beating WC. Amongst other district games earlier this decade.

I can’t speak for the Webb game this year but I was at the Joplin game. If you think they choked in that game you are crazy. That was one of the best high school football games I’ve ever seen. Carthage lost by 1 to a team that is playing for the class 6 title. Hardly a choke in my opinion.
