Grain Valley may beat Webb . I personally don't think they will but webbs defense is really damn good . Don't see them giving up 30 plus points to just about anyone . Nixa got 14 . One on a run that should have been tackled in the backfield but nixas best player by a long shot ( ward) made a special play . Their other TD they converted two 3rd and 14 plus plays .

I don’t think Webb loses this week. I’m not really a Webbie, but I agree with those who are feeling like a run is coming this year similar to a few years ago. Idk just a feeling. Living in this area so long you can kinda tell. But Webb has to keep playing how they have been playing.

Yeah idk but webbs defense has been lights out this year . They have I think two d lineman who are under 200 pounds so it's possible for them to get pushed off the ball but its rare . Nixas o line has an all American and probably average idk 265 pounds plus . Their other tackle not named cantwell is a stud too . Webbs secondary has more interceptions the last 4-5 weeks then the last several Webb team has had in years . Just a well coached team . They have two losses so they are obviously beatable but they have been really rolling lately . The soph Johnson is their best player but that Gallardo kid was an absolute stud . Hurts that he's out .

I used to put a lot of credit into size (height/weight). I no longer do that. Why? There were times over the years when my Carl Junction Bulldogs offensive lines from year's past outweighed Webb's D-line by 20 to 25 pounds per man. But then that small D-line would gut punch and nose bleed our bigger boys all night long. How? Strength and speed. You can be a 6-0, 195 defensive end going up against a 6-4, 255 tackle and beat him more times than not based simply on speed and strength technique. That's how I'd place WC's defensive line this year. Just speed and surprising strength. Aside from Jace Jones - their 6-7, 255 mountain at DE - the rest of the starting D-line comes in at 5-11, 200 (DT), 5-11, 185 (DT) and 6-0, 190 (DE). And these 4 men have been squirting through huge O-lines all season long. Particularly impressive is their DT (#76 Liberatore) who has a motor that just doesn't quit. Does this mean they'll do to Grain Valley what they did against elite offensive lines they've played this year in Nixa and Joplin and Republic (they lost to Nixa, I realize, but also held them to a season low 14 points)? I don't know. Ultimately, the play of the lines may very well determine the outcome of the game.

Can't wait for tomorrow night. It's gonna be a barn burner.

I’m reversing your teams but the shorter Walls ate, headed for MU and the NFL, Castillo’s lunch.

I have never seen anyone blow off the ball faster than wall on defense. Offensively i would say the lebanon rt that is at mu right now. That kid would be in your knees before the ball hit the qbs hands.

I don’t see Webb giving up 30 either, which is bad for grain valley because I think the only way they can win is to score 30+ on Webb. I think this ends up 42-21 Webb.

You can imagine why. Being vague but you can put it together

I have not seen Grain Valley this year. The game I saw Webb, I thought in warmup that they didn't pass the eye test. Not that big, no one really stuck out. (maybe #92). Wasn't impressed with the offense. Typical Webb O but less explosive. (Stud Qb did not play). That Defense, Holy crap they play hard and FAST! Defensive line is small and fast, Linebackers could run but were bigger than the D Line maybe 215-220 each. Seems backwards but works for them. Defensive backs always seemed in good position no busted coverages. If any team can score more than 21-28 points on them then they are the real deal.

They are getting ready to see the closest thing to a real deal IMO. If they can stop this offense then they are probably playing CR in Columbia. This will be one of the most if not the most complete offenses they see. Cannot wait to hear this defense I hear so much about as well as this split veer that Noone runs in KC.

I honestly don't understand why almost nobody else in the state runs the veer.

in 34 years since Webbs first title they have been in the State Championship 19 times and won 16 I think. Seems to me other coaches would figure out that maybe they had something that works more often than not

Since switching to the triple option, although out of a different formation, Lebanon has been much better. So, I agree. If run well, it is extremely hard for a HS defense to be disciplined enough to stop it

Harrisonville won a championship or two with it

you gotta run what you know. coaches coming in from most small colleges don't know the veer.
Also a lot of coaches want to be 'multiple' .
Then they learn.

When Webb played the Rock in 2014-15 they ask Severino in an interview if he was able to simulate WC offense in practice that week , he said " if I could simulate it, I'd run it "
Looking forward to seeing GV play. Safe travels!
Picking Webb in a close one 24-21.
