The first coaches poll came out over a week ago.

The Polls came out and mean absolutely nothing as always

This is worse than college polls voting this early.

C1 Boys - #9 Winston - They lost nearly everyone. They may not finish over .500.
C2 Boys - #6 Putnam County - I am a fan, but they lost 4 starters. They will be decent, but not Top 10. Gallatin should be Top 10 and is a state contender. Plattsburg should probably gotten some votes.
C2 Girls - #4 Wellington-Napoleon is BAD. They lost too much. Got #7 seed in I-70 Tournament. They aren't even Top 4 in their own conference.
C3 Girls - Milan should not be getting votes. They lost Cady Pauley. They have some good role players, but will struggle. South Harrison and Polo will be pretty good this year.


I am sure there are others, but those are teams that I am familiar with.

How is Borgia in class 5 in basketball? Have they done anything lately that would have pushed them up 2-3 classes?

Pembroke ranked in C4 despite moving up to C5 this year
Chrisman ranked in C5 despite moving up to C6

I understand that at the end of the day polls mean nothing but if teams are going to be ranked can we at least get them in the right classes?

Really sad it’s not done better.
It’s a few coaches around the state trying to scrap it all together.

They need to have media from each major market send in a ballot. Maybe 2 from the stl/KC metros. Maybe 2 from Springfield.

Then 1 from Joplin. 1 from St Joe.
1 from Cape, 1 from como/JC.
10 ballots? That would be better than bill and Joe Schmoe trying to push something out when they really don’t have the time or knowledge to do so. Almost solely based on last years results at this point.

Agree. It needs to be a media poll, not a coaches poll.

NWMO Class 1
Platte Valley boys are rolling....and everyone saw it coming. PV and Green City are the favorites.
Winston was probably a gut reaction after 9 or 10 years of good teams in the polls.
Winston, Stanberry, Platte Valley/Jefferson, North Andrew, Worth County, Mound City have all had great runs.

Class 2
Gallatin and Plattsburg.....both tough.

Lose a lot of faith in polls when they can’t even rank teams in their appropriate class.
