I’ve been doing some reading on Trump and his use of actual phrases from dictators of the past. Poisoned blood, Vermin, extermination, executing General Milley, etc
The reason he is doing it is because it works. It worked for Mussolini and Hitler and it’s working for him. He doesn’t care if people keep comparing him to Hitler.
They talked their followers into giving up democracy and putting them in charge of cleaning up society just like a certain numbers of Americans think having a strong man will fix our problems better than a democratically elected government.
He keeps repeating these things because MAGA people love this shit. It’s working for him. His numbers are up.

A side of this that is missed by a certain percentage of people is the constant comparison of Trump and Hitler or Mussolini is that kids under 30 today don’t really know how bad things really were in WWII. My grandfather was awarded the Bronze Star and got a Purple Heart for his part in WWII. He was an alpine skier in Italy. He got wounded in battle and captured then led an escape that got him and some of his fellow serviceman home (the reason he got the Bronze Star). I grew up hearing about how bad the war was. I would see footage of Hitler and Mussolini on the history channel. I learned about Dresden and saw pictures of it before and after. It’s estimated 70-80 million people died from direct action or famine. 20+ million Russians and 20 million Chinese died alone. Kids under 30 don’t have the same connection to what happened almost 100 years ago that some of us who are a little older do. Younger people do however constantly hear that Trump is like Hitler from the legacy Media. Young people may be dumb but they don’t think Trump has had millions of people killed based upon their race. That would be a true comparison. What many people think is an attempt to make Trump look worse by comparing him to Hitler is actually making Hitler seem like maybe he wasn’t that bad. Have you ever thought of the disservice you are doing to young people by comparing Trump to Hitler or do you even care. I am as over Trump as many of you, but I’m not so ignorant of the past to think Trump is anything like Hitler or Mussolini unless you are simply comparing them based upon their persuasive speech and charisma? That I could see the comparison but last I checked, Trump is accused of having some classified documents (which every president has) and telling people to go protest peacefully and helping Deutchebank make money and say they would do business with Trump again after he paid back the loan they gave him. Not exactly to the Hitler level but maybe someone can give me a concrete example of how Trump is really like Hitler. Otherwise, it seems like you are making Hitler to seem like an alright dude instead of Trump a killer of millions and overseer of mass genocide. Please educate me on where I missed Trump seizing power and killing a bunch of people. Maybe I’m the one with cognitive dissonance in this situation. I want to see the evidence of Trumps carrying out these murders and invading other countries and starting wars but I just can’t find it. He even asked his cronies on Jan 6 to “protest peacefully” if you read the transcripts and don’t just take the medias word for it. Oh, he used a persuasive phrase similar to but not exactly like something someone said in another language and was then translated to be roughly the same thing in English = dictator. Got it.
How much do you follow what Trump says on a daily basis? Do his own people worry about what he might do in a second term?

i don’t want Trump. Said it many times we need to move forward as a country and Trump is only moving backward. I’m also old enough to remember the 2000 election when Al Gore took the Florida vote all the way to the Supreme Court and was quoted asking people to find votes and pressured the Florida election not to certify it. He only conceded when he lost his battle in the Supreme Court. Nobody likes to talk about 2000 and 2020 but what Trump did is not unlike what many presidents and politicians have done over the course of American history. I also don’t care if Trump said Catholics shouldn’t vote Democrat. Biden told Charlemagne the God that you aren’t black if you don’t vote democrat. We all forget about that and want to make Trump this terrible person (which he is) but so is Biden. They are both corrupt grifters but I can at least call them both out for it and don’t live in a slanted world where I forget both sides do the same thing. My stance continues to be neither Trump nor Biden cares about any of us but we are getting the same cold soup served to us again.

Yes it for sure contributes to inflation. But take for example the company I work at, for 30 years we manufactured a product in SWMO and had about 30 people working, paid them a decent wage and we had a decent return on investment. Then about 10-15 years ago cheap imported units started flooding the market. We invested in robots and automatic paint equipment to lower costs but finally had to shut down that line, 30 people with families to feed lost their jobs and we now have those units built in China and shipped here by the container load.

You mean like his policy of signing off on the largest drilling operation in Alaska to move forward? If if had been not one drop of that oil would have helped the oil supply in the this country because it was being built to carry Canadian oil to the Gulf to be shipped to other countries.
