I've been to KCI a ton the last 2 years . Prior to ever going there I was happy bc kc was only like 2 hrs from Joplin ....then I drove there ...once you hit the kc city limits ...you're like 45 min away from the airport.

Please correct me if I am wrong but the PCSD extends east to 169. Metro North is on the other side of the road.
You might be right, I assume the Metro North area might be in the Staley district. My mother in law lives just north of the new Costco off of 152 and is probably about a 5-10 minute drive from Staley and a 20-30 minute drive to Platte County but yet she is in the PCSD.

I stand corrected... However i would like to know what kind of Chinese pencil they used to come up with that map ! Metro North Mall is in the PCSD but all of the surrounding residential areas east of 169 would go to Oak Park High School. Those north of 152 would go to Staley. Thanks for posting that map Honcho.
Probably some political deal with PC school district back long ago. I’m only speculating, but what else could it be, really?
They were decided by a judge.
I do know back in the 1970's when the mall was being built there was a court case over boundaries. North Kansas City school district tried to annex the area but the mall people wanted it to stay platte city(back then) because of lower property tax rates.

So the tax revenue produced by the mall goes to PCSD with zero students living in that specific area... Schweet !
Probably great from 1976 to 2004. Since then anchors left except Macy's rest has been torn down.

I explained this a couple of years ago here: I have cousins who grew up in Barry Heights who voted to move to the Platte County R-3 district over Park Hill circa 1976. I vaguely remember, as a teen, my grandmother explaining the neighborhood wanted their kids to go there due to the perception (right or wrong) that Park Hill was not as safe/had a larger drug etc. issue. As stated in 2017 not my opinion at all................

This is partially true..............explained the social part of it on another post on this thread.
I thought it was funny putting in teams from the west side of Missouri on the east side of bracket and teams from the east side on the west bracket!
That is what happens when you do not have exactly 32/64 teams on each side of the state.
It didn’t happen but there were a couple years that Webb City and Hannibal could have met in the quarterfinals.
When you have 40 teams out of 64 from the eastern half of the state in a single class, where should the final 8 go after the east bracket gets filled with the other 32 teams?
