Need some advice coaches. As either a Head Coach or Assistant Coach if I am arrested and charged but not convicted yet for a DWI what should I do to try and save my job! I'm being serious here! We all make mistakes and should be held accountable for them but what should a person in that situation do! Obviously not Drink and Drive in the first place but what should I do?Tell my superiors, my boss? Talk to the team? Anybody with a similar situation that can help!

Not a coach, but I would think you need to first talk with your superior/direct boss and be honest with them, better they hear the story from you first, then from somebody else. If you have worked for the school for awhile they should know you well enough to know if this was a mistake and totally out of character on your part. However all this is not guarantee you will keep your job which is sad, but I have seen coaches bounce back that have been caught doing worse. Just make sure it stays a mistake by not repeating it.

if your a msta member i would give them a call and see what your legal rights are before you talk to administration, they are there to help you answer questions, i would do that first, then maybe go to a lawyer, then go to administration after you know what can happen

I have found MSTA to be an utter waste of time. Your call but if it were me, I am getting to the one Administrator I know best & telling them then asking for his/her opinion. A lot of schools this will = termination, some schools maybe not.
